Also to call Cashplus you can call the number they provide for overseas callers - 020 7153 8940 and use it as part of free mobile/landline minutes.
EDIT: BE sure to read post #67 about them BLOCKING this number!“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -

This number is blocked unless you phone it from outside the UK.
A short message says "you can not dial this number from this phone"
Cashplus have gone to great lengths to ensure there is no other way to contact them apart from their extremely expensive 0871 phone number (90p per min)
They don't even supply an email address for contact.
There are other phone numbers listed on saynoto0870
Most are now outdated, or deny any connection with Cashplus. ("They used to be in the building but moved out")
One number does work and is operated by Advanced Payment Solutions, the company who actually run the customer services for Cashplus. Curiously if you dial this number they still deny any connection with Cashplus and insist that you dial the 0871 number then hangup on you!
There are so many bad signs & signals with this card and the company's that operate it.
I would suggest anybody thinking of applying for a prepaid card look to the cards offered by established and recognised brands or banks.0 -
I agree that this is a great thread, but I'm sorry to read about the 'negative' side of 'cashplus' - it has been fine for me, although nothing is going to be right for everyone.

Just to let you know: I rang Cashplus and they upgraded my card early even though I was technically 4 days short of the month. It went through no problem, I don't think the woman even realised it wasn't a credit card. I chose to pay a 3.85 euro per day insurance charge rather than them doing a 300/600 euro card swipe!!!! I was only there for 6 days car hire so there was no way I was risking that in case someone hit me or something!
Used prime card as cash card - slight fee of approx 80p but exchange rate fine and no worries.
WARNING - I used cashplus to withdraw 30 euros from cash machine and they charged me £31 something plus a £3 odd finance charge. Well over the top - exchange rate worked out approx 0.88e:£1 rather than the useless 1.27e:£1 it is at the moment.
Moral of story: Cashplus fab for purchases but DO NOT use it to withdraw money abroad...Hi,
I got a cashplus mastercard specifically because I need to hire a car. Am one of the lucky few whose egg card dies on the 6th March...
Will be booking car hire on that before it dies but will need to pay airport fuel on something.
The problem I have is that I got both prime & cashplus as soon as I heard from Egg (which was a week after it was in the papers - my letter didn't turn up!) and I still haven't got my cashplus pin. www.idtprime.com also says car hire is ok online but need to ring them with questions re fuel.
Cashplus say car hire review but don't tell you that you have to have had it activated at least 1 month before you go... Needless to say I fall 4 days short at Easter. I'm going to have to load it with lots of money before I ring them & BEG. I'll also be ringing Prime asap to find out what they say. It's only fuel for God's sake but it's giving me sleepless nights as they still classify it as car hire.
Will let you know who comes out on top - or if I have to resort to cash/my mother's credit card...0
