Morning all,
Had a relatively successful day yesterday - list-wise anyway. We went into small town for coffee to meet one of DH’s colleagues, and had a pleasant couple of hours in a new coffee shop that DD had recommended, in a beautiful vaulted old building. Came home and had to help DH meet his self inflicted targets by clearing out more kitchen cupboards. Which in turn meant clearing out more Stuff from the utility room, to turn that space into our kitchen for the next month or two, and the dining room, to stack boxes. Crossed a couple of bits of admin off my list - including finalising DD’s car insurance. Switched companies for the same policies and saved £75, which is better off in my pocket than their’s.Fed up with not sleeping all week so I took half a tablet and slept until 8.20am this morning. Bliss! I am supposed to be going to the allotment, but need to kick myself up the derrière. It is blowing a hoolie outside, and forecast to rain by midday, so if I take my time….DH is slamming around Doing Things - his way of making a point that I have slept in AND am not dressed and doing things yet. He can carry on slamming!
Right, I will get dressed now, have that second cuppa, and contemplate the day.6 -
Hallooooo xx
Ooops I may have accidentally slammed a door shut on Fayolle's OH's fingers. (There's a reason that I'm single 🤣 )
Yesterday's Round 2 went a bit skewhiff. I pegged out first load in glorious sunshine, set second load swishing, cooked my fishcakes, sat down with my butty, and....there was a mahoosive black cloud heading my way. What to do? What to do? Oh dammit. Went out and fetched in my washing. And 5 minutes later the heavens opened. Checked weather forecast- 0% chance of rain. Hmmm. Looked out window: kelching down. Put second load on airer with nearly dry first load. And the rest of the day was perfect drying outside weather. 🤬 Hummed and hawed about pegging out again but cba with laundry hokey kokey so didn't. Said washing is still on airer stood at open back door in the sun. And there's a big black cloud heading this way. Deja vu.
May swish towels later as weather forecast says 0% chance of rain this afternoon. Ever the optimist 😊
I'm up, made my bed, sploshed bleach down the loo, supped two brews, eaten breakfast, got dressed, fed the birds, put out the rest of the rubbish and recycling (half done yesterday) and WULTD.
Coffee next. Join me?

Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
Got up in night to take parrots, same again first thing then went back to bed. Got up feeling a tad better so made us bacon sandwiches, had a bath and am just back from dog walk. I'm going to potter now sorting sheds etc.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
It seems that my laundry efforts are doomed this weekend. I had a red scarf and gloves to wash - retrieved from the Cupboard of Doom. So I bunged them in with a burgundy towel. Wash similar colours together etc. And either the WM couldn't find a balance to spin or it's broken. Towel, scarf and gloves wrung out by hand and pegged out. Proper load of towels and tea towels now swishing....with everything crossed that they're not sopping wet through when I open up. 🤞IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme9

Hi all
Well things are calm and peaceful here. DS1 has no hot water at work so has been staying here a bit, its terrible because I do love DS1 and GF but I am used to my own peace and quiet and routine, so find it hard to get used to extra bodies in the house. They are out for Sunday lunch, we declined joining them partly because I cant be bothered to make myself look presentable and partly because we are trying to be frugal.
Yesterday we had a fabulous 8 mile walk on the coast so today I have blitzed my home office which was disgusting. My little office doubles as a gym and laundry room and would quickly become a dumping ground if I allowed it, but even then there is far too much stuff in there so cleaning it properly means shuffling a lot of things around. It took me nearly 2 hours but I am pleased with that.
Weather is terrible. I feel the need for a bit of a leg stretch but we are expecting a visit from parents, so will wait a bit. Pizza for tea and I will make a rhubarb and apple crumble.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone x9 -
been to the Artisan market - very posh (and expensive) pie for tea. Did a bit of xmas shopping.
DW x 1 and emptied, filters rinsed,

Originally awake at 5 with Doogie squawking so got up and let her out and back to bed. Woke up again at 8 and then got up. Pottered about a bit with my breakfast then got ready to go and see a friend in her new house. Fabulous place and she has lots of plans for it. Called in to see Mum and Dad on the way back who were just back from their Sunday lunch. Poor mum doesn’t get out much but dad manages to take her down to one of the local(ish) pubs on a Sunday. Quick stop in Mr T as DD wanted cake mix and back. Will start to prep for dinner now that I have sunk a cuppa and a snack and then look at a meal plan. Tomorrow is my first Monday off so will have a full day to fly and actually looking forward to it.
Valli - you’ve started early!
