This is the screen of a 17" laptop. What an absolute waste of screen space.
Somewhere back in the thread it was stated that it automatically adjusts for desktops and mobile devices. It most certainly hasn't adjusted in this example.

Strangely on my 15.6" laptop, the sizes are proportionately different ...

Big problems now with notifications.  I had 1 that said there were 271 new posts in one thread.  It's one I look at daily.  When I clicked on that "271" notification it took me to something in May.

Also in the past when I've got a lot of notifications I'll go to the oldest I don't recognise click on that into the thread and read all the posts on there.  So it might be a few pages.  And when I've finished reading everything on there I click on the "back" arrow to take me back through the pages and back to where I was on the notifications page.  Now it takes me to the previous thread I was on.  And the notifications don't get updated to show that I've looked at them.

Not sure but I think everything was working ok yesterday so maybe there's something you've changed over night??

    What's with all that??

That's exactly what I'm finding Brie, as posted a page back.  It worked better yesterday, but it's all gone awry today.  I too used to scroll to the oldest I didn't recognise and read from there.  And there was another icon to the right that showed a green dot for all bookmarked threads with unread posts, which when clicked took you to the first unread.  It seems that combining these two functions into the one drop down isn't working as hoped and it's getting a bit muddled.

@MSE_Laura_F Has the view count option for threads been removed in this update please? I can’t seem to see it anymore. If it could be added back, it would be great as it is a nice to know metric. Thank you

    Good post.
I didn't understand why some were saying the text was too big, as any smaller for me I would feel like Mr Magoo

But now totally understand if seeing the top one.

Your address bar seems to imply you have that at 170%? Which would account for the particularly massive text (which is far more massive than the massive text I get on a desktop atm), though not the masses of white space.

I would agree that, whilst the design is 'responsive' and so DOES adjust to differing screen size, the actual design makes it ridiculous, even in the adjusted format, when viewed on a desktop/laptop. It does adjust, it's just still a load of white space.

I don't know why the difference though ... have been seeing the screen as I've shown in my screenprint for about 3 to 4 hours now.

Note: Edge vs Chrome makes no difference to me.

Nav menu includes 'my threads' and 'my replies' and 'my drafts' - why waste headings for those - I'm using the forum to look at what others have written, not to admire my own work!
It's worth saying that with the previous design we regularly heard from people that it was too difficult to track down a thread they had previously started or participated in.
Ok, that makes sense if that's what people want, though it was actually very easy to find that info by just looking at your own profile and so, perhaps, making that hint more obvious would do the trick without a load of menu headings that many others will find superfluous.

In my view - maybe just mine of course - the current design seems rather over-obsessed with access to one's own profile and activity. I'd rather have more connectivity in the menu to parts of the actual forum - which is what I come to it for - than to my personal history.

Maybe, to solve the apparent need without overcluttering the menu, there could be one menu heading 'My History' to take you to your 'history' (aka your profile) page which could have all that My Threads, My Replies, My Drafts as obvious choices at the opening of the profile page? One menu heading to rule them all.  And making space for some more useful ones for the rest of us.

The top one has magnification at 170%. That's why there's a difference in font size!
