I have done HHI, which earns me the right to post, I do believe. Made a butter paneer curry for dinner. Delish. With a huge naan each, nom, nom.
Mr M delivered today, not a lot to show for the money spent, but it will have to do. The freezers are still hiding bags of “stuff” so there must a dinners in there somewhere.
DD has got a baking urge, so yesterday we had cake, and today we have some yummy looking cookies. It is probably a good job that she is away for a couple of days form tomorrow, so I would be the size of half a house. She bakes, I eat. Seems like a deal.5 -
Evening all,
Thanks for the thread, yeah I know very late in coming in this week and I too thought it was my laptop rather than an updated page.
Have been keeping on top of the house apart from the rooms of doom. It's tidy but not deep cleaned. It's a struggle to do mentally when there is little help and I am at work all day. There is light at the end of the tunnel as two more weeks then I resort to my 4 day week (but have to increase my hours each day rather than lose 20% of my income.) Trialling it for 3 months so need to make it work as I need that extra day to keep on top of things.
Dad has someone round this week to do an assessment for mum for respite care for him, he thought he would start by asking for that. I'm not sure who it was, he said it was social security. They have told him if it is approved for respite it wont be where she went before as it is too expensive (tell us about it, minimum 2 week stay at £1775 per week and he had to pay) but if it's some flea pit that stinks of body fluids I'm sorry she isn't going and I'll have to go over there so he can have a break. Much as my mother and I don't see eye to eye, she is still my mother and I don't want her to go somewhere where it makes you retch when you walk through the door, I'd rather smell bleach. I have been in some beautiful care homes and others where I have had to wipe my feet on the way out.
DS has a birthday next week and so I need to sort out a small gift for him to go with the money. Not sure when we can see him as he is working both weekends before and after and on his birthday. I am off all week and away in the caravan but only about 20 miles from his home and in the same city he works so hoping to catch up at some point. He is struggling with anxiety abut the future, his work, the mortgage rates and finances, and is really playing havoc with his ulcerative colitis. I am so hoping he does not end up in surgery.
Have decided to work from home tomorrow, with annual leave and people dropping like flies I need some peace and quiet from the other teams to get on top of the workload and get everything up to date before I finish for the week. I usually end up working over the weekend pre holidays but determined not to this time.
Nothing planned for the weekend yet so hopefully will either spend some more time with DGS or doing deep cleaning.
Blew the budget last week with a new car seat for DGS to keep in our car (I need to take him out loads more to justify the expenditure as DH was quite put out 'what if I need to put the seats down', 'well you take it out then my dear!!!')and some bits in the N3xt sale so need to do some shuffling around of pennies and work out how to pay for the big hol next year.
Sorry for rambling ......Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!6 -
I dont see no big font? TBH the only difference Im noticing is the notifications are really weird and the colour is a lot brighterI didnt sleep well at all last night , went to bed at 3, awake at 5, needless to say Ive just been exhausted all day - and the bathroom is still needing doneHowever tidied the bedroom and sitting room. Gave the kitchen a once over, 2 machine loads done, dishwasher stacked, on and emptied. Scrubbed out the air fryer, cooked the dinner, re cleared the kitchen, walked the dog twice, went for my own walk, got the groceries and had a dander about Home bargains and spent more then I wanted, only went in for bleach and toothpaste - £12 laterIroning pile is now stacking up. Thats my Saturday job this week. I go park run in the morning and then tend to flake out lol. I can put a film on and sit and iron. I dont cook really on a Saturday , bacon butties for lunch and something like pasta for tea.Tomorrow is bathroom or else
Ive got the dinner for tomorrow sorted, I dont have to go into town, only dog walks so no need to even get dressed and I can clean in my nightie - much cooler. Although its tipping down , its just so humid and horrible

Re font size.. Hold down the ctrl button and scroll mouse button towards you a couple of clicks.. it zooms out so it is smaller.
Squeak collected and fed.. apparently she has to be back at MT at 6pm tomorrow.. Ddot has a new friend.. a very tall girl (she is 11 and about 5ft 9) called Valerie.. she makes about 4 of Dot.. it's very cute watching them walk together.
Squeak has glittery lip gloss.. we may need to set DD2 on her make up.. She will evolve the Squeak into a drag queen beautiful butterfly.
Tonights mission.. get.. a.. shower.. I am all spidery webbish and dusty.

i have managed to cut the grass in between bouts of ‘side effects’. it was too long and too wet really.
got two option for a haircut as my wispy straggly bits need to go. . i now have wavy hair. i’m too old to learn to comb and brush wavy hair. *wails pathetically *
I love Dots friend’s name. i don’t think i’ve ever met one younger than me. Dare say it’s down to Amy Winehouse/The Zutons
My replacement bank card has arrived. Must not cut this one up.

Mega bathroom clean.
One load washing done, hung out, brought in dry.
Had drum lesson.
Went to Pilates then swimming.
Started blitz on bedroom; threw away late stepdad's T-shirt which I've been using for...golly at least 10yrs now and it's falling apart. Pile for CS.
Did a bit of admin, culled a few emails.

dropped everyone at school.. putting last tip bits in the car.. and trotting to emty that.
OH has a sick note for another 2 weeks off.. I know you can't put a time limit on grief but honestly, he was more upset when the cat died.. he hasn't spoken to me at all.. I kind of want to give him a slap and demand he is back to work for the routine and tediousness of it. I am not unsympathetic but I also know life goes on.. I know it is different for everyone but really.. 7 weeks feels like a lot.. I know I sound mean but if he at least spoke to me or showed any kind of emotion other than buying plants and forgetting how to be in the house and shouting at the girls I might feel less mean.. At what point do I start pushing him to live? I haven't said a word to him, just being quietly resentful and feeling selfish.. I am walking new ground here and would appreciate guidance.. I want to be supportive and do what is best and so far I have said nothing and rolled with whatever he needed in the moment.
ooh.. car is full.. off to the tip again..
