Another one here not liking the new design - the lack of contrast from the paler font makes it difficult to read for people like me who are developing cataracts and have slightly blurred vision. (I hasten to add that my eyes are not yet bad enough for me to not be allowed to drive.)
I made lots of cakes yesterday for the charity Wimbledon Strawberry tea tomorrow, so my first job this morning is to pack them up and take them with me to Action Heart later. J the gardener is coming at 9.00 and then I'm off to help my friend, taking a tall stool with me so that she can perch in the garden. By the time the Access Service get to go an OT appraisal, she will probably be up and running by herself. Following that is Action Heart - deliver cakes and work off the lbs I probably put on licking out the bowls - and then it's off to the big city later this afternoon. Rosie refused to go out yesterday afternoon because of the distant thunder: more is forecast for today, but the dog walker will persuade her.
I need to sort out and file all my loose printouts of recipes in a ring binder which DH kindly provided from the depths of his mancave.
Catch up later xxx7 -
I hate change too and lately it feels like lots of things are changing. This new board is ugly.Waiting for shopping delivery and Virgin engineer so my nerves are in shreds. Cleaned behind everything I thought might need to be moved but probably missed something and then I'll be embarassed!4

Morning all.
Apart from this thread I'm not bothering with the forums anymore, just way too much hassle.
Today I've done paid stuff, admin and sorted my paperwork drawer. Oh and dusted tops of doors and doorframes.
Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Jazee.. I've not ventured far for a long while. I have done 1 post on another thread recently but before that I can't remember when I went elsewhere.. the outside is full of evils.. I'm staying here where it is nice and warm.
I have decided my 3rd dryer is being rehomed.. it lives in the shed.. then my heat pump dryer can go in the shed.. and I will get a small chest freezer to go in there too.Cuppa and then dinner and pack ups.Squeak has had a rough day at school and spent time in the corridors reading.. Dot has had a 1-2-1 all day.. Spam bit another child.. all in all a good week..
OH's birthday today, I may treat him to a chinese.. Boog sent me the money for his hone contract which I paid last week..
I have vacuumed the remainder of the shed and shuffled stuff about.. I have a lawn of stuff to put away.. or bin..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -
Hm, thought I posted yesterday but maybe not....or maybe the rather unattractive new system lost it.
Have lost track of what needs doing on what day, but Mr N vacuumed downstairs yesterday.
One load washing in, out, dry and brought in.
Ditto DW.
Put away a load of clothes on the floordrobe.
Went to Body Pump.
Paid cc.
Checked bank account.
Filled bird feeders.
Watered hanging baskets and greenhouse shortly before major rain storm.
Did a load of dead heading.
Did drum practice.
More tax return.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
So I meant to post yesterday as I actually did fly. I know, that’s a shock. But I logged on and was so befuddled by the new huge layout that I obviously got distracted and forgot. So I’ll update my flying prowess with my eyes half shut to see if that makes the layout and font look any better….
Yesterday (as I need all the wins that I can claim) - wm x 2 (I think, can’t remember), HHI, dusted and vacuumed whole house, cleaned bathrooms (scrubbed the bath, goodness knows what state DD was when she got in it after working and camping away at the weekend), possibly something else. Spent the afternoon travelling to and from and at the hospital with DD. We get to repeat the joy next week with a different consultant / department. Bad night’s sleep, or lack of. Back to work today to find that jobs might be on the line. I’m not as bothered as I probably should be.
Today, flying has consisted of finalising tomorrow’s Mr M delivery, cooking dinner (veggie sausage casserole in July anyone?), putting the kitchen to bed, and having a slice of delicious pistachio cake that DD made today. Best bit of the day was the cake!7 -

We had a brilliant evening out at the opera - great music and choreography, some amazing graphic design, and all marvellous fun - and we both thoroughly enjoyed the rare treat. My head was buzzing so much that it took a long while for me to get off to sleep last night, and the music was still going round in my head when I woke up at 5.00 this morning.
Talking on the way home about what we have planned for today, I completely forgot the two most important things that involve other people! So my day now looks like this:
- reply to a couple of emails
- shower and dress
- breakfast
- give Rosie a quick walk (she was on her own for a long time yesterday so deserves the extra time out)
- help my friend don her surgical stockings (she is making good progress now)
- prep a healthy salad lunch before going with DH to Action Heart for the coffee and cakes fundraiser (I'll work off the extra calories tomorrow!)
- eat salad
- take Rosie for her 'proper' walk
- go to DGD2's school production of The Lion King
- try to stay awake for WDYTYA
In between I will do the dailies, but that's about all the flying I shall have time for.
Hope everyone has a good day xxx6 -
