    Hello

Missed a couple of weigh-ins. Was sts until this weekend when I started on the tube of crisps which are always my downfall.

    Weigh-in + 2lb please Brambling

Need to give my head a wobble. Time for calorie counting I think.

    pleased with -1lb Brambling

have had a very bitty and disjointed week ,I finally had an orthopaedic appointment and was put straight on the waiting list for a hip replacement .
6-12 month wait ,but deemed to be urgent so hopefully nearer 6 than 12 months .
so a definite incentive to stick at it this time !

    @Brambling
cautiously stating that I'm down a pound.  That's 25% off towards my quarterly goal (ok it's only 4 pounds but hey ho!!)

  • I haven't weighed myself this week as I've had a proper eaten and drunk too much week. I somehow managed to put on 3lbs in two days (!!!!!), so I'm afraid I've an 'f-it' week. I'm guessing it was just bloating after beers and pizza, but still! It takes so long and such willpower just to lose a bit of weight, but so easy for it to pile back on again! Arrgh!!!!!! I doubt I've gone over 2000cals per day, but my BMR is around 1400cals so quickly adds up. Especially when I cba to exercise.

The dreary weather hasn't helped. I've had no motivation to do yoga, workouts or go outside. I just feel a bit burned out after training for a running race which I did last weekend. I have managed a couple of walks and a run this week but wish my energy levels would return! I'm still fitter than I was, which is positive! I couldn't run 6miles this time last year!

Oh well, must keep plodding on!! Hope next week is a good week 👍
  • @Brambling, hope you have a lovely holiday, I love the beaches in Northumberland, how nice to have a sea view.  I'm sure I speak for all, don't bother to update while you're on holiday.

@Pixie_Cosmo never checked my BMR until today, mine is similar to yours... not a lot, I think we all need an F week.
    A 6-mile run is amazing, don't think I could do 600 M.

Hope everyone enjoys the bank holiday, I have extra gin in, husband has time off work so planning beach walk and fish & chips, also need to remember as I'm having sugar cravings, (resisted YS cheesecake tonight) I need to undereat by 500 cal. per day to lose 1 scabby pound.

  • I was brave and weighed myself. My goal this Q was to lose 7lbs, and I did lose a couple (hurray!), but overall I've put on 3lbs. So 10lbs to go to get to a sensible weight for my height (5ft).

@jennystarpepper I redid my BMR today and it's actually 1200cals if I was sedentary. 1400 if I move around more, which agrees with my average FitBit calories burned. I think the standard 'women need an average of 2000cals a day' mantra is so unhelpful to the weightloss /maintaining mindset, how many women do need that many? It is so easy to eat more than you need :-(

Cutting 500 cals a day doesn't leave much food to eat, unless you do a lot of exercise! No wonder we get fed up having to be so strict. Enjoy the gin!

@Brambling hope you have a lovely holiday, and hope everyone gets to enjoy a long weekend :-)
  • I just realized that I hadn't posted in a while. Sheesh. I'm (un)fortunately STS for now. I did actually lose some weight then regained it over the past couple of weeks. Onwards and upwards... and more veg in my mouth. :)
