    However, I'm treating the account as an easy access spending account that pays 4.35% anyway, as well fee free overseas spending so it's useful to have anyway.

    i have only just logged in and seen them,   but as an update,  i did send a complaint to Kroo and it got resolved and finally got the gift card.

    Spoiler alert: just in case anyone else had the same issue, Kroo had an outgoing payments issue which is apparently resolved - I got an in app message about a failed payment (standing order) - in my case (yours may differ) they have advised me to pay manually this month (after I contacted them) - not best impressed TBH!

    ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

    Got a notification this morning (3am 🙄) that a standing order from my Kroo account failed - I have the funds & have sent a £1 test, which appears to have worked (not to an account of mine so cannot check).

    Anyone else have any standing orders with Kroo fail recently?

    This one has been paying fine for around 6 months.

    To add insult, they appear to have turned off the chat function & their phones are closed! 😡

    Just to add, I got my TCB money fine after opening the account, as did my mum.  I do have gripes...

    The app is shocking - I nearly gave up trying to open my account (early 2023). It is still very temperamental - slow/stopped much of the time.

    I also don't like the move they did with the interest rate - they were tracking just behind the top savings account - around 0.5% behind - they were overdue a bump, when instead they started tracking the BOE base rate - so they are nearly 1% down on top savings rates

    I'm not fussed on the contacts thing - if someone has your mobile number - they don't even need your name, they will be told your name (I did not know the surname of one of my contacts - I do now)!
    Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers :eek: )!

    Useful, thanks. I have a chat message pending about a failed payment on the 28th. I didn't get a notification of any kind though. My phone is put into aeroplane mode automatically overnight so perhaps they don't queue for delivery when you check-in. If this doesn't prove to be a one-off I will need to move my SOs back to Chase.
  • Slightly different I know but, I got a notification from Amex yesterday morning to say my last month's spending had been cleared in full by a DD from my Kroo account, and I can see Amex have reduced my balance by that amount. But yesterday and today when I check my the Kroo account, the money does not appear to have left my account where it's showing as still being available.
  • to be fair to them they resolved my complaint and got me the giftcard in the end,   but,  it just seems a very awkward set up on the app.
    i don't use it now,    just saving it to be a burner account for any potential switch deals in the future.
