For anyone thinking of trying Kroo bank

yep, i have contacted them, just got a response to say something like "if they on your phonebook and they have a kroo account, then you can't delete that contact". i think it;s a very stupid design as we all have numbers on our phone of people we don't know too well.boingy said:
Wow. That's terrible design. I assumed it would copy them all in from contacts and then leave you free to delete anyone you didn't want in the list. When you say you have removed permissions did you do that in the app itself, just above the list of payees? Apart from that I am out of suggestions. I guess you need to ask their support to help. Or just give up on Kroo because they are not making you happy.eastmidsaver said:
thanks . just looked at this. this only works with the contacts (payees) i have added, but doesn't show the "delete" option with the ones it has pulled from my phonebook.boingy said:
In the app press "Kroo" at the bottom of the screen. Press "See All" next to "People" near the top of the screen. Press on a person's name. Press "Delete contact" at the bottom of the screen. Repeat.eastmidsaver said:i think issue is i gave it permission when setting up without realising. despite me removing the permission, the contacts are still there.
my worry is if that it might be easy to accidentally pay someone else in error. i know its just about being careful, but usually my payees list is just people who i'd regularly pay. not a load of randoms from my phone book.
by sounds of it, maybe this just ain't for me. i might go with Newcastle at 4.3% instead, and forget about the £10 Amazon voucher.
It's all really obvious once you realise that they have chosen to call the list of payees "Kroo" instead of "payees" or similar. A somewhat naff decision on their part but I guess they were hooked on the whole Kroo/crew thing when they designed it.0 -

hi have tried the uninstall / reinstall and it didn;t work. i have not tried clearing app data, but i guess that won't work if i have done the uninstall thing.Have you tried clearing the App's data (or uninstalling) and setting it up afresh?
even tested deleting a contact from my phone book to see if they would disappear, but that does not work either.

That really is crazy. Kroo seem to get some unfair criticisms on this forum but this is not one of them.eastmidsaver said:

You should be able to select which of your contacts you want to add and you should be able to edit or delete them at any later time.

so as an update, i made kroo aware i wasn't happy with this and explained why its a stupid feature, and it appears they have now removed those contacts for me.0

however..... just now i have tried sending £500 to my chase account. and whilst the balance has come off in my Kroo account, it is not showing in my transaction history, and is not showing in my Chase account either.
what kind of a bank is this ?1 -
Sounds like it is probably being held for fraud checks. They do that with incoming payments too, which I'm not aware of any other bank doing.

I have this exact issue. Someone on my phone contact showing up on my kroo banking app. I don't like this at all. I'll contact them."...and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make".0

yes do that. to be fair to them, after initially saying it can;t be removed, after persevering they eventually took them off from my account. i gave them feedback that i think this is a bit of a silly feature, and why. hopefully they take it on board.mizfiesta said:I have this exact issue. I never got my £10 Amazon voucher. It's been 60 days+. Kroo say contact vouchercloud, and vouchercloud say 'you'll be notified if you are one of the lucky WINNERS???' This is despite looking at my vouchercloud saying 'awaiting confirmation'. It's not good and resembles a scam.
