Today I am grateful for getting several rbags to the Ch shop, for not getting soaked when the heavens opened, for finding a pair of trainers for dc for £1, for DH making tea.

Grateful for getting some dry washing in and more out on the line, for messaging my elder niece - unfortunately her granddad died at around 1 pm yesterday. and for another lengthy conversation with my cousin who's struggling with sorting her mother's house (it needs a lot of work and has asbestos in the ceilings) and trying to divorce her absent husband (he left several years ago for another woman and since moved onto a new one but still thinks he should control her life)

Up early to.wake DS1 for work. Went to town early, so I could run a couple of errands, before meeting s customer. She bought me a hot chocolate whilst we discussed her alterations. Hung the washing on the clothes horse, as showery weather. Had a nap for half an hour, then went outside & weeded a whole flower bed. Put a film on whilst eating tea, then listed 3 of the 4 piles of books on a local.selling page. DS2 brought even more things down that he wants to get rid of. Had to tell him not to bring any more til I've sold some, as we can hardly move round the room & it's starting to cause me stress! Washed the dishes after the film ended, then read my book.

Grateful for an afternoon in the garden, getting most of the books listed, time to do a bit more of my rug

We're off on holibobs tomorrow for a few days. Dc is camping and dh and I will be helping with the cooking for the group. Around 90 people. But we're sensibly staying in a nearby Airbnb. No camping for us!

Thank you for July, Starlight. Sorry I've mostly been an absentee turtle - but I recognise that that has been my life for the last three months. It's time to take back some control and order. That said, I'm away until about the 6th of August!

Hope your trip goes well @apple_muncher, enjoy your nice, comfy bed! I have helped at scout/beaver camps in the past, & ended up camping too, so think you've got the better idea 😊

A hot day, went for a walk with DH after breakfast, then read my book whilst eating dinner. Spent the afternoon sorting more things from the garage. Have emptied out the walk in 'box' area now, & started putting things back in. Lots for the dump this time, as mice had got in amongst the boxes of clothes. Still some to wash & donate or sell though. Listed a few more things on local selling page. 2 lots of washing done. Did the ironing & dishes after tea, then had a nice soak in the bath.

The saga with the potential 'wedding' is still going on. Dad won't listen to any of his children advising him it's a scam. The court house he told us he has to attend (the wedding is via video link) is permanently closed, so now he's saying he has to travel to Liverpool (from Durham) to do a link there, where she's in custody for gold smuggling!! My brother is at the end of his tether with it all. Families, eh?!

Grateful for a sunny day, getting lots done & not being in the midst of the farce in Durham

Wow Thrifty, the book you are going to be able to write about this is going to be EPIC Sorry, life is just b0nkers sometimes, as long as it is happening to someone else.....  hugs and emotional comfort blanket coming your way.

Well payday has arrived! DH is back from his camping trip (wet tent still in car from last night - I am not saying one single word!)  Huge credit card bill paid, lots left over, bills all go out tomorrow. The End.

Goodness, Thirty Taylor. My first thought was surely your Dad must be able to see that this is as scam but then I remembered the sister of a very good friend. A few years ago she was ready to send all her life savings to a "22 year old Nigerian" who was coming here to marry her after "meeting" on the Internet. She was 72 at the time and had multiple health issues. It wasn't that she was stupid but obviously she was gullible and fragile at the time. Luckily my friend's husband stepped in and put a stop to it.

So, we had the most marvellous weekend. Stunning meals in spectacular settings, some lovely (though not very long walks) and a visit to a fabulous farm shop. I must admit I didn't realise quite how tired I was but it was worth it to see the Boy and his beautiful girl.

So, I'm ready for next month. A couple of hospital things and really need to concentrate on on getting my fitness up a bit,

Last day of July, the big light went on in the living room around half seven last night. The weather has been utter carp for what feels like the whole month. The odd half day of sunshine, but nothing vaguely summery.  
However, the school holidays have started, I have two weeks of pay in the bank, and a shiny new month to try out tomorrow. So thank you for this month's challenge, I remained in budget and on course, and had two weeks in a hotel with free drinks and good company, then came home to DH and the kids. 
Maybe I will hear back from a builder with a quote next month? Stranger things have happened on Deansgate.....
