Made 4 birthday cards straight after breakfast yesterday, so I could get one in the post ready for my friend's birthday tomorrow. Dropped sewing off in the village too. It rained on the way there, but dry on the return trip.
Spent the afternoon polishing shoes & cleaning boots & Lego, ready for more listing online. Felt fed up after tea, noone was available to go for a walk with me. Went to visit DH & take him more snacks, then visited my friend & her new puppy. Very cute & really took to me, he fell asleep on my lap! Got home at midnight!
NSD#12
Tired this morning, went back to bed after waking DS1 & putting the bins out, but didn't sleep. Disinfected the bins, washed the dishes, then DS1 was back from his first shift of the day & added to all the carp in the room, by bringing 3 pikes if books downstairs, that he doesn't want any more.
Tried to nap after dinner, nope! Sat sewing all afternoon, then received a call from my dad (1st one in years!) to tell me he's getting married on Monday. He's only known the woman a couple of weeks, she's half his age & has a young child. Alarm bells are ringing for me, but he'll do what he wants, regardless. At least he's in England & not nearer me in Scotland, though feel sorry for my brother, who has to sort him out with living closer!
Had to pick DS3 up from town, annoyed as he didn't tell me he was going there, from the other town he'd been in all day. Had a rather long rant on the 20 min drive home, think he's learnt his lesson now 😂
Grateful for friends, getting the sewing done (ma home playing up) DS1 watching TV with meUse it up, wear it out

Oh, Thrifty Taylor. What can I say? Alarm bells would be shrieking in my head!
I'm on NSD No 20. The most I've ever had but that will be the last for this month. The next four days might be quite spendy.
I'm finishing my coffee and then I shall get myself (and Himself) organised for our trip to the seaside. Fairly easy travel wise. Train from our local station and then just one change. Don't even have to change platforms. The Boy says he'll pick us up when we get there but if he's too busy there is a taxi rank outside the station.
For some reason my ipad won't let me post (tried changing the password and everything but it's being remarkably stubborn) so I won't be able to check in but I'll be reading to see how everyone is doing.
Have a lovely weekend. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -

How are you finding the Asus Beanie? I've just lost a long post. Flippin Narrator butting in and shut the laptop down. Not good when I have a Big River Order due to start arriving tomorrow.I don't know if you ever came across Ming/Mar on the forum but she asked on the Techie site a few days ago if a HP laptop was good and took her post down in disgust . The responses were horrible. No idea if everyHP has that Narrator but it's a pain.Thinking of all the poorlies and their loved ones. I may get back online later today. A few hours and it will be courier watch quite a lot of orders so fingers crossed I'll be able to track them through the day.If anyone has a decent laptop I;d be interested to hear. Doesn;t have to be all singing and dancing just a basic one that works. I'm not at all techie and only use it for the site , emails , orders etc. I am following the news at the moment online until the TV is replaced. It;s like the Perils of Pauline here no TV or lighting downstairs thank you thunderstorms.Garage keys have gone AWOL and the electric fuse box is in there.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

@beanielou I haven't made a card for quite a while, but have lots of things gathered together to make some, so decided to start making more - clear space & save money. Had a job finding one in shops for my neughbour's 70th, so now I'll know she won't have 2 cards the same 😃
Have a good trip away @Toni'sfriend.
DH had done a reverse photo thing online (no idea how to do that, didn't even know it was a thing!!) & found profiles on other platforms with the same lady's photo, but a different name, so forwarded it to my brother, then to my dad, who said he'll look into it.
Went to town after breakfast (had hung washing out & sorted through the chest freezer beforehand), dropped toys off & sewing, picked mum up & did my big shop. Mum's super happy she can buy icecream now she's invested in a tabletop freezer. Whilst shopping, DH messaged to say he might be getting home 😍
Drove home, put all the shopping away, & was eating a late dinner, when he said he was able to leave. Went back to town to collect him. Then had to go halfway again to collect DS3, as he didn't want to wait half an hour for the connecting ting bus. Didn't tell him about DH, just said there was a surprise at home. He was do excited to see his dad home again, as were the other 2 DS's. Made tea, then we watched our wedding dvd. DS2 watched nearly the whole of it surprisingly, thought he'd only stay 10mins! Was nice to see all the family & guests, some no longer with us. The sound quality wasn't brilliant, but technology wasn't as refined 25 years ago!! Did a bit more on my rug afterwards.
Grateful for DH coming home, s more organised freezer, so could see what to buy, & warning my dad about the scamUse it up, wear it out

HUgs polly.
Yesterday I set a load of washing off before I had my shower. Hauling myself (literally holding both rails and pulling at the same time as pushing with my feet/ legs) back upstairs was quite an effort. So shower, no hair wash (it looks ok but feels itchy), gathering rubbish/ recycling while resting and making sure I was completely dry.
Next bathroom visit, I applied antiseptic cream then cleaned the sink, the top and back (behind the seat) of the toilet and cleaned a patch of floor (had filled the sink and dropped a rag in it, to tackle tough bits) until my legs had had enough. Went downstairs at lunchtime.
Cleared 3 sacks left by the midnight pixies, one from the day before but couldn't make it to the bins the day before. 2 went straight in the bins (could have sorted lots into recycling but needed the time/ energy for more important things), the third split open when I picked it up. Whoever thought that putting a full but ancient bottle of budget orange cordial in the bag was a good idea. Okay, being positive, it's good that Beloved is managing to clear rubbish - you can see large patches of floor in their room. She's even managing to declutter broken and unwanted items, but eeeerghhh!!! Told DS3 to sort it out (when he has clothes and shoes on) but I did pick out the paper items for the recycling and scooted backwards sitting on my walker to bring the paper bin back.
After more resting on the couch (DS3 had sneaked down but left when I sat to eat) I brought in all the bits from the line (the large item had wrapped itself round the line so just untangled it) I pegged out 1 t-shirt, 1 pair of joggers and 1 cardigan. After resting for another 1/2 hour I put a sheet out but the remainder is still in the wash. Came upstairs with 2 heavy bags (so all the dry washing is still downstairs). I also took in some parcels (Beloved is receiving birthday gifts, DS3 brought a lovely mini-satchel type handbag decorated with mushrooms to show me).
I'd tackled a couple of frogs the day before (2 for 1 but it involved looking through birth and death certificates and other paperwork before I could actually make the phone call), so I emailed my nieces to update her on progress since our meeting. Unfortunately, her granddad is in intensive care, she'd visited the previous 2 days and they were expecting the 'call' at any moment. In better news, my brother's camper van has given him a new lease of life, he's doing lots of pottering and he and the dog have been away in it (only long weekends so far).
My earlier meal was sitting a little heavy, so I only brought carrots, celery and mangetout upstairs (I have a pack of baby beetroot as well). Lots of watching a series (based on a set of books I love but I've decided to separate the 2 as it's a very loosely 'based' on the books, quite a lot of puzzling, some reading (extremely good book but hard work at times).
Grateful for all my 'entertainments', my bed, getting things done.

@pollyanna_26 I've only ever had Acer Aspire laptops and really happy with them, my current one is 3 years old like you I do the basics.
@Thrifty_Taylor That sounds like a Google Lens search. Basically instead of putting words into google, you use an image instead as your search criteria.7 -
