Spent 4 hours helping DS3 catalogue records. He did most of the work but I put them in the right order for him. I read my book in between and then he helped me do the last two lengths of clothes line. I went up the ladder but couldn't reach across to tie a knot, so he did that and then tied the final end off at the house. So I spent some time pegging out 'bits' - masks, bandages, hankies and a couple of pillowcases. I moved the catalogued records into the space under the stairs. We've done from Schumann to Weber and there are a handful that were in the wrong places/ don't have a place (Hungarian folk songs, Czech traditional songs, the Red Army Ensemble), but we'd both had enough for now.
I've come back upstairs because everything ached. I meant to bring some fruit and an ice cream with me but forgot.
Grateful for getting on with the records (the end is in sight but not looking forward to the Welsh language and Gaelic ones - do I separate the Scots Gaelic from the Irish), for having washing line (difficult to use so have to do it in stages, like everything else, paper bin day tomorrow (I've asked DS3 to take out a bag I filled yesterday - if I feel up to going down I'll try to do more green bin filling).
I will do August if you like (how did it get to August already)

Thank you. DH has been told he might get he in a couple of days with some tablets, or might be Aberdeen again if his readings don't improve.
Thanks for offering to do the next 2 months apple & GMN.
Toni, your posts aren't boring at all. Don't feel guilty about taking things easy, you've had a tough time lately & deserve a rest on the chaise longue.

Got up to wake DS1 for work. Did some yoga, hung the washing out, sorted the cat in the shed out & fed the birds. Read whilst eating breakfast, then sewed the binding back on the edge of DS1"s blanket, follower by 2 jobs for customers. Had planned to clean my fridge, but it'll wait til another day! After dinner, I tackled the cleaning of some of the toys, etc we'd sorted out in the garage, & listed em on a local selling site.
Early tea as DS1 was working this evening, then I felt a bit flat, so made myself go for a walk. DS2 brought the second lot of washing in for me. I did the dishes & went in the bath with my book.
Grateful for a dry day, getting lots done before tea, more things sold pending collectionUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

NSD No 19 (I think. Lost track a wee bit)
Did lots today. Changed bedding, did washing, did a zillion little jobs including sorting out clothes, etc for weekend away. Lots of things need done but I'm feeling more positive and I hope I'll be more energised when I get back on Monday and I can get on with it.
Cat sitting when we return. He's like a black panther. A real hunter. Recently moved in and definitely marking out his territory. My little friend absolutely loves him and they seem to have developed a real relationship. I can foresee me looking after both of them.
So, it's been a good day. Hope yours' has been too. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
I took 4 books back to the library and then caught the bus to Bolton to pay the cheque in at my bank. Helpful greeter thought the machine might have problems with the cheque (I put it in my bag about 10 days ago, when I was first planning to go and it got rained on and one corner was a little ragged - none of the information was affected) so she went to her colleague 'behind the counter' and paid it in for me. She also exchanged a £20 note for me. My penny tin was in a mess - DS3 had knocked it off and had to scoop everything up. I thought all the £20 notes had been taken out but this one must have been at the bottom of the tin and was stained brown from the dirty coins.
My shopping got simplified because the branch of M n S next door has been closed - I'm interested in some clothing that I can get online but I want to know where the seam lines are, that there aren't any zips and that there is room for my magnificent bosom - shirt buttons don't stand up to the rigour of bosom on the move and I've just rejected some lovely t-shirts because they have a pocket where it will look ridiculous).
I did go in a couple of shops that we have because they seemed to have more room to get around - very interested in some of the sale items but would want to try them before buying and didn't have the energy for that. Decided not to go to Morries (salad bar and ys plant based meals) but promised myself a gingerbread man from the Gr - eggs stall at the bus station. A pleasant but tiring potter round, found the large print puzzle book and bought a few craft items - needed ribbon and the bits are all small.
It was starting to drizzle as I got back to the bus station, sat on the couch for a while when I got in an have been stretched out on the bed for an hour or so getting rid of some aches and pains and knotted muscles.
Grateful for DS3 remembering to put the bin out, pleasant pottering and helpful staff.9 -

thriftylass said:@Thrifty_Taylor you are a very busy lady and got a lot on your plate. You're doing the right thing by listening to your body and napping. Used to hate having to take them as a kid (we had them enforced till age 8/9 at home and before that in nursery till 6 😲) but I started appreciating them again in adult life.
@ditty1234 what did you study at art college and what do you do art wise now (sorry if you mentioned it before and I just didn't pay attention 😔). DH went to art college and so did at least one partner of most couples we know. He's good at drawing and graphic design but surprisingly bad at painting etc in a decorating situation, lol.
No NSD today, bought a cool box for our trip and the last few groceries I forgot to put on the list. Writing a list of things that last the week is getting more challenging with those growing locusts in the house. Not going shopping again till just before our departure.
Also harvested berries, took kids to play park (at 12 and 9 still not too old 😊) and got a good few hours painting done. Weather was like April, sunshine mixed with downpours.

Today I am grateful for the cumulative effect of getting things done for a few days, for finding a painkiller that worked for dc in the night, for building the new garden storage bench box and moving stuff into it, for having the back door open all day, for big rasps on the canes.
