NSD No16 (only because I haven't been anywhere!)
f0xh0les - You are naughty but you do make me laugh
Another one here who is really going to have to get back to tackling the housework. The house is an absolutely tip. I don't know what my mother would have said. Actually, I do but it wouldn't be appropriate in polite society!
Starting to work out a bit of a diet plan to increase my calcium intake. I think I can manage that and cutting down on caffeine and alcohol but salt is another matter. I just love salty food. Any tips, anyone?
Looking forward to meeting my Canadian cousin and her family tomorrow and having a weekend at the seaside with the Boy and his lovely girl at the weekend. I hope this is the beginning in a turning point in my circumstances.
Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday. Bit windy and cool here. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
I was downstairs fairly early (I thought it was noon and it was only 10 am) sat on the couch then took 4 bags of rubbish (3 were only small), set the WM going then went back to the couch.
Took pizza boxes to the bin, put the kettle on to boil, took clean items out of the DW, not too bad pots into the DW and some of the pots with stuff dried on into hot water and washing up liquid in the bowl, then back to the couch.
Took 2 bags of cans to the bin/ moved clean pots off the drainer, scrubbed the pots in the bowl and added more (1 item needed more soaking and 3 'takeaway' containers were beyond re-use).
This carried on throughout the day (couldn't overdo things because my back buttocks and legs protested loudly when they'd had enough). I had bacon with mushrooms and tomatoes for lunch, cooked more bacon which is now back in the fridge (crustless quiche another day), Lots of things to the bins, lots of pots and cutlery processed, clean clothes brought upstairs (matches from the kitchen had disappeared). Cooked new potatoes, cauliflower, carrots and celery and threw together a wonderful curry using the ends of 2 jars that have been in the fridge for ages (divided a can of tomatoes between them, shook them to loosen the paste, put that in the pot then added the leftover water from the kettle and shook them again. Half the cauli made a meal with a pack of pasta with sauce (need to work my way through the stores)
By 6 pm I was done in. DS3 came down so I packed everything in a bag and asked him to bring it up for me, whilst I went to cover up the curry. i would have made potato salad but couldn't open the jar of mint sauce.
Grateful for good progress, finally managing to do some real cooking, the couch and the books, games and series for my rest periods.7 -
Glad you're on the mend @grandmanerd & @Toni'sfriend. Welcome back @f0xh0les, aw the family missed you! Sounds like you've had a very busy day!!
Saw a quote today that inspired me "There are 5 months left til 2024. Don't let anyone waste your time. Go all in & focus on your goals". Good eh?!
NSD#10, woo hoo double figures finally!
Had 2 lots of washing out on the line today. Emptied 2 bins into the recycling. Did 2 sewing jobs, then after dinner, me & DH tackled more of the garage. Made 3 piles - dump, keep & sort through, & sell/donate. Started to clean some of the sell pile, but looked like it was going to rain, so a mad panic to get it all back under cover! Managed it thankfully. Did the ironing & dishes after tea. Was in the bath with my book, when DS3 phoned, asking to be picked up from town. DH doesn't drive & DS1 at work (not that him & DS3 are speaking), so off I tootled.
Forgot to say yesterday that I finished my book. Was the best one I'd read since Crawdads.
Grateful for feeling excited to be getting rid of stuff, the big pile to sell/donate (clearer space & more pennies in our pocket. Win-win), another sale being dropped off tomorrow 😃Use it up, wear it out

I *might* be on NSD 3, but in my defense I have been on daily expenses for 14 days so I will get it all back eventually, and the pantry has benefited from a few shunted items.
Normal service has resumed. Made scones yesterday after lunch, went to the pantry, two jars of jam and a jar of peanut butter have disappeared in a week. Animals!
This morning will involve shopping, volunteering, and trying to hide jam where they will not find it. Fun and games!

NSD No 17
I had a lovely day with the cousins and and my Canadian family. Himself insisted on paying for lunch for everyone so I didn't spend a penny. I was going to pay for it myself. First time I've been anywhere in the last seven months. Gladrags and makeup on, Fair cheered me up.
The boy phoned when I got home. He's booked dinner in some lovely places at the weekend and a little drive out on Saturday. I'm feeling thoroughly spoiled. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -

So glad you had a nice time out Toni, & more to look forward to 😃 enjoy being spoiled.
What a day... Dropped DH at the hospital for his blood test. I went to drop a sale item off & sewing at my drop off point, then went back to the hospital. Sat looking through & deleting emails in the car, when a nurse came & tapped on the window. DH had had a temperature when they checked him (hadn't when he'd tested at home), & had felt a bit queasy, so they were advised by his consultant in Aberdeen, to send him through to A&E for antibiotics. At lunchtime, he was admitted on to a ward, so I came home & packed him a bag (could I find his passport for ID in case he's sent to Aberdeen?!), then took it back to him. On returning home, I then dropped DS3 at the beach, where he's camping until Thursday with some friends. Was shattered when I got home.
Had a sit down, then made tea for me & DS1. Felt a bit restless & thought about going for a walk, then thought I could walk round the garden & push the lawnmower, so got all the grass cut. Fed the tomatoes & washed the dishes, then watched the last half hour of a programme. A couple of things left to do, then it'll be off to bed.
Grateful for supportive friends, neat grass, DSs 1&2 helping outUse it up, wear it out

Yesterday was weird. I started well then just went 'flat'. I think I need to do something different. perhaps go out for the day but can barely summon the energy to get downstairs. I decided to go and bank the cheque (8 miles on the bus) but couldn't find the file I knew I'd put it in.
I spent most of the day resting (DS3 was already downstairs) did a food order late on and as DS3 had come upstairs, I went down to wait for it and did a little tidying whilst waiting (mainly getting empty bags - plastic, long life, jute, rubble and recycling bags off the floor) and moving things away from the vestibule. Threw several rubbish bags out into the yard plus the bag with the old toilet seat (black seat in a navy bag on a black floor - it's a wonder I haven't gone full length across the floor).
Food came earlier than expected. I'd checked and it wasn't even out for delivery so thought it would be near the end of the 2 hour slot. When I came back from floor clearing to sit down, I checked and it was at the top end of town. Put away all the frozen and fridge food (more ice lollies and a few plant based/ low fat and sugar ready meals), sat back down and DS3 re-emerged, so I put things in my bag and came back upstairs. It was past my bedtime.
I am recovering from the latest batch of bugs, I could taste and smell things very clearly (unfortunately this coincided with taking my nastiest pills) but still a lot of nasty stuff coming out of me. The weather seems undecided (alternating sunny spells and downpours) so I'll leave banking the cheque and concentrate on my room. Made a start by rounding up and bagging all the rubbish/ recycling and cleared the patch beside my bed. DS3 has asked to do the records so I want to put them in order so he can catalogue them and DS2 can get them auctioned/ sold.
Grateful for books, puzzle books (hoping the new one arrives today), things that are bad for me (I need to find healthier coping skills but every now and then giving in to the cravings helps).7 -
Thrifty Taylor - I hope Mr T T is feeling better and gets home soon. I really don't know how you manage to do so much with all the things you have to juggle,
Had a bit of a quiet day again but I did get the washing done and half dried before the rain started. It's all hanging upstairs now finishing off.
Being a bit lazy. Pizza from freezer for dinner. Bit naughty but I do like pizza.
Sorry if my posts are a bit boring. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6
