t first I was quite pleased with myself when I looked at the new site and did everything needed. It just took a few minutes but I began to find it harder to navigate, Threads seemed all over the place so I must say I dont like it either and it does seem weird. It was easier when the list of threads was on the left of the screen.I decided to leave it for a while..Apologies for not relying to the questionsnot good having to try and learn tech from one of those Internet for books. I neverresorted to the dummies one but built up a lot for over various ages unfortunatley I donated them to one of the charities here ironically helping those who'd never learned or needed tech years ago.I do have Window111bought when I got this laptop. Can't remember if it was FOxhOles who asked if there was an emoji at the start of my post but they disappeared when the update to the prevoius version came in. You'll remember Ming/Mar or whoever she fancied being GMN we had great fun with Emojis,When we got home from Hyde Park my friend and I had a bit of a Boss fest on the Tube then decided to have a look at Billy Joel- He is bald! I'm still trying to pick a replacement TV . It's strange reading the news on the Laptop. Before heading to bed I watched Peter Kay on the tube. He;s kept me going through the winters, I don't think ayone can watch him without howling with laughter. I watched the Car Share episode where he took the young woman to Knowsley Safari Park ; I'd forgotten about the monkey until he looked in his rear mirror and saw the monkey sitting on the back seat laughing at him.I don'tknow i you saw his Comic Relief sketch , Singing is this the way to Amarillo. It looked as though he was running but he was on a moving belt with various people Bungle Bear and Geoffery. Dorothy and other characters from the Wizard of Oz. others and then Michael Parkinson and little Ronnie Corbett who got a bit carried away moving about and clicking his fingers and fell off.Tony Christie was singing the song Peter was miming. I decided to watch Tony it was a pretty ok song but the live version looked so dated. Anyway it's cheered me up as Brian May and RogerTaylor joined in the fun.I'm glad you got to see your Grandaughter and the family weather was pretty miserable here with more rain and thunder forecast. I wish they'd take the uk forecast from our airfield rather than Squires Gate in Blackpool which is often different to here.Apologies for not replying to various questions re the Hyde Park concert my friend and I were shocked the boss looks old and a number of the Estreet band were victims of the pandemic including Clarence the big sound of the EStreet band.I'm hoping the poorlies are sleeping peacefully.I better get to sleep before the milkman arives, pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.10 -
Morning turtles
It was an NSD yesterday! I think I’ll start counting from now (that could be my first this month). I wfh yest - horrible in 38 degree heat, won’t be doing that again. We don’t have air con and wouldn’t have it on all day if we did…. so I’m off to the nice cool office today! Managed to do 2x 20 min yoga sessions though, let’s just call it free hot yoga.
grateful for trip to UK coming up meaning I might finally get a decent night’s sleep, for getting my reading mojo back (my job entails a lot of reading that can be quite intense and since I started in 2 years ago I haven’t fancied reading for fun)
have a wonderful day turtlesStudent loan £5655

NSD 5 for me today (I think)! Not loving the new look site, but no doubt we will get used to it.Just been to see my brother, who lives in the next town, to take him a few things (which are now out of the house) and have a chat, as OH was watching the tennis and I was bored. Also dropped off a bag of clothes at the collection point for a local charity in one of the supermarket car parks, so a worthwhile amount of decluttering done todayNow about to make a curry.Just a heads up, I had a really convincing looking email telling me that TV licensing hadn't been able to collect my direct debit and I needed to click here to set up a new one. The email address was not a UK one, and it was addressed to my email address rather than by name, but the logo was correct, and I could see that some people would be taken in by it, especially in these days of paperless licensing. Anyway, I checked and the direct debit had been taken as usual, so I just deleted it (without clicking anything obviously). So be aware that there may be a new scam circulating.OK, time to make that curry (Hairy Bikers' chicken bhuna from one of their low calorie cookbooks if anyone is interested).

These scam emails are really evil. If you're not savvy you can get really ripped off and a lot a of them look very convincing.
I had a really uncomfortable and painful night last night but I've figured out a way of making it better. It involves stuffing tissues down your bra. No sniggering, please!. Not very scientific but it seems to be working.
Haven't had any NSDs because I've found some some good deals for gifts later on in the year. Advance planning? Is that allowed?
Had some lovely lentil soup last night for dinner. Made by my neighbour when I came out of hospital and put in the freezer.
Having yet another chill out day. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
Toni'sfriend, when I was giving up breastfeeding (DS3 was fully breastfed until he was one year old, he wouldn't entertain baby rice) I was advised to use cabbage leaves to reduce the soreness and swelling of my breasts until my milk dried up, so tissues seems fairly normal.
I've had a quiet day. I was very tired but in a good way. Awake before 5 am, waited to have my pills and something to eat, then had an early shower (by persuading myself it was easier to get in the shower when I was already in the bathroom rather than waiting). Glad I did because I started to doze off around 7 am and didn't wake again until nearly 10 am.
My foot has been complaining (+ pain in some of the muscles I'd forgotten I had). The other foot was jealous and decided to have a moan as well, so I've not done as much as I wanted (really heavy rain this morning so set aside any plans for going out). However several bags of rubbish and recycling (cardboard boxes and cans and bottles) have gone out, I went as far as the end of the backs to bring one of the emptied bins back and did lots of pulling up weeds along the way.
Back upstairs now and have taken off the bandages. Will do some re-filing before bed and should finish my current book.
Grateful for feeling at peace with myself and the world, the prospect of the records moving on shortly, more things gone from the house.

Hello, not much to report. Woke up at half 5 and just got up, did some language learning, yoga and journalling. Cycled to work and went to gym. Knackered and only did 30 of painting. Various leftovers for tea and an NSD.
Off to bed with a book. Might actually do some painting in the morning if I'm up early again.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/258 -
@grandmanerd i also did the cabbage leaf thing. @Toni'sfriend you could put the leaves in the fridge, take out a couple to cool down the burning, then when they feel warm, swap them with another couple.
Torrential rain this morning, so got stuck into tax credit renewal & pet insurance. Totally forgot to see a customer, so walked to the village to pin her into outfits after tea instead
Went for a walk with DH at lunchtime when it had dried up a little, then spent the afternoon sewing & watching the Bee with folk doing the same as me (only better!)
A long lie in the bath to ease my back & read another chapter of my book.
Grateful for shooting more frogs, another 2 bags of sewing ready to leave the house, moving the dismantled bedframe out of the living room, so don't have to keep tripping over itUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Hello,
today isn't a NSD. Had to get cat food this morning as I forgot yesterday. But I was planning to go for a little top up shop tonight anyway, so at least I didn't loose yesterday. Only just over a week and we go on holiday, can't wait although I'm not looking fwd to the heat in Germany.
Tempted to take my tomatoes etc out of the green house/tent while we're away so they don't die of thirst and the rain can water them. I guess it won't be any worse than leaving them in and certain death. Unfortunately caterpillars have now made it into the green house and I will need to go and hunt them tonight as they are eating my chard, kale and salad.
Have a good dayDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/257 -
Cabbage leaves? Who would have known that? I'll certainly remember that one. I'm a great believer in these things. But the problem is not the burning. I've got a really good gel for that. It's more trying to "separate" the skin folds. Hence to tissue down the bra. It's something my Mother would have done
So NSD No 9
I tidied out all my wrapping paper, ribbon, etc so it's all together and ready for use now. Deadheaded and tidied up some plants before the rain put paid to that. Washing and ironing done. I seem to have an awful lot just now. Suspect it's because I'm changing so often because of the muggieness.
Salmon, baby potatoes and broccoli for dinner. One of my favourites.
Collar burn seems to healing nicely.
Hope you have all had a lovely day. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
thriftylass - will the heat in Germany be drier than here, and therefore more bearable?
