The good thing about sobriety is that I get so much more done but also am more aware of all the other things that need done which is overwhelming. Before that view was "nicely" blurred.Make a list, put the jobs on the list, they will get done. Once you have written them down you can 'park them' until you find a solution. It stops them being irritating as you have acknowledged them on the list, you are just not yet at a place where you can do something about it. If it means you need to find/buy an 'x' to hide/store/file whatever it is, then you have made a plan.School is over in the next couple of days/weeks, you will have more time to do/seek/find things.Longer, brighter evenings are your friend.

But agree, love the longer nights. I'm starting to learn to focus on the most pressing project first (conservatory/room make overs) and putting other things on back burner (garden, hoovering) or doing them just to maintanance level. I also just make daily/weekly lists and that seems to work. I tried writing a big general list and it was never ending as it just grew arms and legs 😂.
However, today I did my new 18 months financial plan. Debt free with savings for the essential categories by Christmas 24. From next month the first time in 12 years child care will be covered by the childcare vouchers and I have an additional 2-300 to put towards debt 😁DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2510 -
My auntie in law told me last week that do the jobs that will make me happy with the results, when I was feeling overwhelmed lady week..it worked 😃 as long as you're doing something @thriftylass, you'll get there. Rome wasn't built in a day. Each little step will move you forward, then you'll look back & see how far you've come.
NSD today, maybe #5? Dropped DS3 off with his friend to catch a bus to the cinema, hung the washing out, then dropped a lampshade off I'd sold to a neighbour & picked up her dress for altering. Cut out & sewed a memory bear, just the hand stitching to do now.
Went outside & decanted one compost bay into the next one. Weeded 2 plant boxes. Washed the dishes after tea, then did the ironing, followed by more if my rug. Relaxed in the bath with my book & a face mask.
Grateful for getting bits done, good books, my leg not being as sore today though still very bruisedUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

On Saturday I spent about 4 hours downstairs (I'd been down once early on as DS3 was not answering my requests for food and drinks). I spent the time getting on top of the washing (some had to be rewashed because there were several days when I could not walk across the kitchen or lift things from the machine). Two loads done and one still to do. lots of putting things on hangers and hanging them from hooks and door handles.
Accumulated rubbish and recycling taken out to the bins (sitting on my handy chair and decanting it from the bags were necessary). Didn't feel that I'd done much but it was all physical and I ached yesterday.
My hopes of getting the fence panel painting done were raised and dashed as DS3 asked when the panels were leaving the kitchen and where were they going (he would help) but when I said half an hour (I'd just eaten) he pointed out that he was not dressed and was winding down to go to bed.
Yesterday I put up 2 more lengths of washing line(imagine a line of dancing emojis). Brought the final length back to the house but didn't think I could go up the steps a further time - only the 2 step little ones but I know when it's time to stop. I put 4 of the clothes item on the line on their hangers, meaning to go back and peg them out later (pegs had been located) but needing to sit down. Late afternoon it rained on the things I had put out so I left things as they were. I'm hoping something is dry or I'll be walking around with a sheet wrapped round me (toga party!) until something is dry enough to wear.
I've rejigged yesterday's list - I'm hoping not to do much walking as I'm meeting my grand-daughter and her parents tomorrow for a meal and then a visit to soft play (she was one on Saturday). This morning's extra grooming included hair washing (it behaves better on the second day). I chopped more wispy bits off but gave up on shaping round my ears when I nipped the top of my ear for the third time (no blood). I'll need something decent to wear and to wrap baby's card and presents. The card is actually a bargain. I wanted one that said 1 and also had grand-daughter on it. The one I found had 1 on it a selection of stickers to choose from (grand-daughter/ niece/etc). However when I looked at it properly it has several pages for details of favourite toys etc (DS1 had something similar covering his first 5 years).
My phone is charging (I heard it complaining and then dying yesterday but didn't bother rooting down to the bottom of the bag), I've done several extra grooming bits and I've put the box of pills/ medical stuff back in order. When I was tidying it was in fairly good order but then I added lots of other bits as I found them so it was spilling over. Some pill foils needed replacing in my 'this week' pochette and I have found and just used my eyedrops. I've needed them the last few days but being a tiny bottle they were lost in the depths, dwarfed by bigger and more numerous items.
The only things left from last Thursday's list are the repeat prescription (no reply multiple times on both Thursday and Friday) - one item now getting quite urgent and banking a cheque (requires a visit to Bolton) which will be Wednesday or Thursday of this week now. Otherwise I'll keep nibbling the elephants. I'm very much in the 'whatever I can get done before I have to stop' zone - trying not to get overwhelmed (trampled by the elephants), being aware of some of what has to be done and putting the rest on the back burner.
DS3 is accompanying Beloved to her hair appointment so I'll shortly have the house to myself for an hour or so. She went to make the appointment on Saturday and wore a red top so was very much out of her comfort zone (out of the house and not wearing clothing that helped her disappear).
Grateful for entertainment, new toilet seat and a washing line, amusing oddments from the fridge and freezer to eat (food is an elephant that is yet to be herded) books, games and things to watch (found an Alan Bleasdale thing I haven't seen before) and watched the first half of 'The Price of Coal' on Saturday.

Got the few things done that I really needed to but I'm not getting on with things as quickly as I'd like.
Pork chops braised in cider for dinner. Very tasty.
Just had to phone the radiotherapy department as my skin is starting to peel very badly and I don't quite know what to do. Should I continue to use the cream they gave me or not or should I use another one. Obviously I don't want to do the wrong thing. Waiting for someone to phone me back.
