Thrifty Taylor that call must have come as a lovely surprise. Oddly enough I've spent quite a lot of time today thinking of Nye Bevan and what a difference a free at the point of need health service must have made in July 1948 for all those who had no hope of affording the private option. It's sad the service is struggling now and very underfunded. Hopefully something will happen soon to improve the situation. The majority of those in the NHS do not want to be striking so let's hope some sort of miracle will make the powers that be take effective action and do the decent thing.I hope you're feeling somewhat better Toni's friend.I'm so glad you bit the bullet GMN sorted out your paperwork and went to sort things with your brother. That is a giant frog dealt with. I've spent a long time willing you to start sorting things a bit at a time as it's more stressful to have things on your mind and impacts on your physical and mental qwellbeing. These things have to be tackled at some point and the sooner the better. It sounded as though it went ok so well done you.I;m really glad you went to film club and remember when you used to go reguarly sometimes mum too if it was something she wanted to see. There was also craft club and I remember you talking about the embrioidery you were working on. Then the art classes .When youngest was really struggling there were times she needed me with her 24/7 and after a while I'd realise I wasn't feeling like me anymore. I did continue crafting at home but sometimes a change of scene is good and charges the batteries again. You are overdue some time to just stand and stare or not be counting rubbish bags.DS and Beloved should be gently encouraged to act like members of the family unit. If they do relocate they need to be able to function.Meanwhile you shouldn't be overwhelmed with stuff. Back when you were thinking cabin bed, garden den etc it was as though .they were plans for time with your grandaughter in your home; You were talking about needing to refit the kitchen and said you'd like drawers like the ones in your mums bungalow rather than doors. If you reclaim your space it should be possible when GD is a little older to have her to stay sometimes. Her parents might welcome a little break even i only a few hours at first if the house is safe with no trip hazards.I may manage to talk about the Jurrassic Coast tomorrow. I am familiar with it from holidays in Exeter where my sister and her family live.Youngest DD and I used to sandy beaches , sea shells, some protected flora and fauna including sand lizards were surprised when we started taking daily and evening strolls along the beach at Exmouth and discovered we were walikng on some pretty big green pebbles not much sand.Think it's time for a brew. It's been bright but chilly here today. Temperature has been dropping the last few nights.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

So nice to hear so much good news. Today I cleaned the top two floors -roped DS1/2/4 in to help. They all stripped and remade their beds, and all the laundry is piled high and being worked through. Everywhere hoovered and clean and tidy!Tomorrow is ground floor cleaning day, shopping day, volunteering day, and getting ready for two weeks working away and leaving DH as the responsible adult I have a horrible feeling this is really not going to go well.Keep everything crossed please.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I am thinking this was maybe quite a basic challenge to set for such an experienced gaggle of turtles! It's been inspiring to hear about some of the forward planning and thinking ahead that's going on. What a giant frog you have dealt with GrandmaNerd. And Toni'sfriend, even when you are tired you are 'moving things forward' as GrandmaNerd said. Resting and recuperating is also a huge investment in our futures - as is anything that helps us get plenty of sleep, water and nutrients!
Fantastic news @Thrifty_Taylor, I'm sure being home will aid your OH's recovery. Glad you have found a solution @thriftylass - good luck making it happen.

Thanks for all your good wishes, it is so good to have him home. The DS's were so excited to see him too.
Spent the morning cleaning, nipped to town a bit early so I could treat us to steaks for tea. Collected DH, then cooked tea. Everyone enjoyed it, exGF was here for tea too, as she is friends with DS1. Washed the dishes, brought the washing in, then got a whole width of my rug hooked, whilst we had TV on. Nice to sit & chill 😃
Grateful for having DH home, the sun shining, my newly painted toenailsUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Wonderful news Thrifty_Taylor!Forgot to post this yesterday…OH and DS had a day out with a friend and his young son. I was wfh when Mum alerted me to a Marks deal - 20% off school wear. Annoyingly I’d bought DS school clothes a few days before from Mr Mark and Mr Spencer. Anyway it’s all now been returned and reordered at 20% off. It’s a saving of about £8 so not to be sniffed at!Grateful for Mum telling me about 20% off, for Mum taking me for lunch during said outing to return goods, and for getting my washing dried outside in the warm wind.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11

Yesterday was NSD No 5
Hairdressing appointment had to be cancelled so I still look like a rusty Brillo pad
I did manage to do a few household things but not many, Can always catch up later, I suppose.
Sweet and sour chicken for dinner. From the freezer naturally. It really doesn't seem to be getting any emptier!
Have a good day. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
