I'm dressed, sploshed bleach down the loo, fed the birds and put out the recycling.
Disaster! I switched on the TV to see if BTCC was on today.....and the TdF is about to begin. Ooooo. That's me done for the week then. 🤦♀️ I will do my best before and after each day's cycling. Compromise 🙂

Hello all.
Round, just do what you want!
Today, I have walked Poppet twice, done some gardening and been food shopping with DH. Bought a jacket reduced from £31.50 to £5 so feeling quite pleased.
More gardening planned for the afternoon then tonight we are out for dinner to celebrate DS's engagement.
Turns out when I checked the receipt the jacket was £32.50 reduced to £3.75.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
What a day! Drove the 1.5 hours to DSs new flat with all his belongings then waited an hour for him to queue for keys rather anxiously eyeing up the slightly grotty looking building that he is going to be living in. Got inside his tiny flat and it was filthy, the oven is so dirty I wouldnt attempt to use it, the fridge freezer is ancient, one curtain pole is broken half and the bathroom is grim. £880 a month without bills the landlord is getting, such is the state of housing in the UK at the moment. Met another couple moving into one of the downstairs flats who seem lovely.
He complained to the letting agent while we hauled his stuff up 3 flights of stairs. I offered to start cleaning but he was waiting for someone to come around and do an inspection so insisted that we left him to it. Turns out they have now offered to clean the bathroom but that's it. Spoken to him tonight and he seems resigned to make the best of it.
Glad to be home to my leafy green village and thankful that we live where we do.
A day pottering at home is planned for tomorrow, which is quite appealing.8 -
Morning all, and welcome to Liane, Longwalker and any other lurkers!
After Friday's exercise and rush-hour drives, I just pottered around yesterday, but managed to cross a few things off my list - not least, I removed the tomatoes and peppers from the mini-greenhouses and put them in the open but safely out of the way of the fence man who (my NNN tells me) is supposed to be starting work this week.
Today will be more pottering and sorting. I've loaded the DW, swished the sides, stripped my bed and started the WM. Hoping to get out in the garden again after church.
Enjoy your pottering day with me, YLand I'll join you, round, in a cuppa anytime
See you all on the new thread xxx

I have had another lousy week where I have still not done anything, Wednesday I could hardly get out of bed but pushed myself into work. I have been going to bed early in the hope of gaining sleep and energy so still prioritising the paid stuff and looking after me. Today comes with an added bonus of coughing like an aging smoker (never have!) and losing my voice. Will shower and walk the dog then need to speak (if I can) to DS about whether they are joining the big family holiday next year.
Plus points I have had my flexible working request approved so from 1 August I will only be working 4 (longer) days per week which will give me an extra day on a Monday to catch on Flying, looking after me or helping with childcare from 2024.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!6 -
Hi all
I am currently hiding away in the LR keeping the dog out of the way whilst DS1 gets sorted out with his new home Crohns injections with a nurse in the kitchen.
It's cold and windy here, I am in definite CBA mood today, but there are things to do. I think I need a list.

Morning xx
I've just unpacked a carrier bag of stuff from RoD2- 5 children's books and a tabard to go to cs. I'm keeping the Battle Ship game for now. Carrier bag has been folded and put in the bag of bags.
I'm up (woke up at 8.30! But I did stay up til 11 (late for me) to watch a Marvel film, Venom. ). I'm dressed, made my bed, fed the birds, put out some of the recycling including an empty perfume bottle, and supped 2 brews.
Hungry now so I guess it's brunch time. I'm with you, YL, I need a list. My head is all over the place: DS and GF are travelling to the airport this evening and flying out to Florida tomorrow, for two weeks. They came yesterday and left me the key so I could pop over and check the house is OK, put the bins out etc. So I need to factor that into my week ... it'll be easier next week when I'm back at work as it's only a short detour on my way home.
Waving to iona 👋❤

round, I'm sure you must be way ahead of your usual self! Are you feeling OK?
Sorry to hear you're still under the weather, kazmeister - GWS x
I meant to say in my earlier post that I had also sorted through the kitchen cupboards yesterday and proudly claim the prize for what is surely the longest o-o-d food item - cream of tartar BBE 1998And I seem to have somehow bought far too much caster sugar recently...
WMx2 all drying merrily on the whirligig. Rosie has had a brush and is looking forward to her walk.
Back later xxx6
