Well it sounds like flying to me Fayolle, however random.
Finished at the paid stuff early to get the hair cut and coloured and banish the greys. There is clearly something in the air with the annoying menfolk, maybe we should send them all off on an excursion somewhere and get some peace and quiet.
Oh and I have DS1 twittering on about this appointment he needs to be shown how to inject himself with his Crohn's treatment and the fact that they wont make him an appointment when he wants, which I can do absolutely nothing about.
Flying to my own lists, bed changed and upstairs dusted, need to run the hoover around. DW emptied. Veggie chilli simmering and rice cooking then it's feet up time.
Pouring down here, it's quite a novelty.8 -
I have achieved a lot of bitty things today - apart from trying to get a birthday card for an 8yo: I refuse to spend £2.35 on a folded piece of paper which will doubtless be thrown in the bin within a week. However, I didn't make it into the garden this afternoon as hoped, as my migraine raised its ugly head again and laid me out on the sofa for 3 hours. Since then I've managed to cook tea, WULTD, walk Rosie, water the tomatoes, and text my friend who is back in horse piddle in Millennium City and awaiting surgery next week - I'm hoping to go and visit her this Friday afternoon, and will also call in on my 2 youngest godchildren who live only about a mile further on.
I must now file some pieces of paper that are embellishing the spare bed, and empty all the bins - then I'm done for today.
Hoping for rain here tomorrow, but not until after J the gardener has been and gone!

flown at the aged ps, mopped floors mainly, after sweeping them. There was a warren. Rang a cleaning company to get a quote/availability. We shall see. DD says they are unhappy with the new hob (can’t work it) and other work they’ve had done. Well I
did try to dissuade them. Shifted 5 bottles of milk which someone, i assume a neighbour, has been moving round the back so the milkman has helpfully left more. the neighbours have my phone number…assuming they took it down correctly. Most of milk had to be dumped. Milkman s cancelled but wrong dates given. And then i watered the garden and just felt completely depressed by the clutter… fridge drawers, sink bits, all useful if you have a allotment i suppose, and loads of stuff in sacks. When the time comes it’s going to be a complete ball ache. 3 sheds and a garage…all locked and heaven knows where the keys are. oh and they have 2 more sheds on the allotment. And a greenhouse there and one at home…
HHI done. Including their laundry which was shoved in the wm with damp tea towels.
Mum goes to the memory clinic on Monday then we are having a meeting in the hope they will agree to a cleaner and frozen meal delivery. They don’t know about the meeting.

One of our NNNs has almost filled our green bin with ivy from the fence between us, so tomorrow I may have to ask our NNN on the other side if J can top up her green bin!
I've shone my sink and am off to bed now. Sweet dreams to all xxx7 -
Iona.. it will have squished down a bit in a few days. OH needs to clear the ivy from our shed roof.. it's right up the back fence to the sky almost.. I may feel the need to climb it to see if there is a giants castle at the top if it doesn't slow down lol.
it's rained much of the evening here.
FIL (the inlaws were divorced about 1000 years ago) rang to babble about MIL's money.. again.. They are wanting a memorial service in August.. we have 16 days of the whole summer holidays where we do not have to be doing something or someone is doing something.. and they are wanting to take into account the ex-sil's holidays.. so annoying.. there are 2 people who matter here OH and SIL and Step-fil.. they work around them and anyone else is unimportant if they can't be there.. tough t!tty! I am in a bit of a quandary.. I'm not going to a memorial BUT... MY mother wants to go.. and DS1 ... I'm not sure about the girls I will give them the option closer to the time..I am ok going over there, sorting food, organising people and stuff.. I just don't feel the need to be a part of a service.. I can say my piece in my own time.. I am not going to be popular but I have no time for the fake carryings on and the drama which will ensue.. I have no time for it.. The things willed to OH and the girls are safe in her lovely friends house. The girls have asked for all the things from MIL's which I bought.. and her biscuit tin.
Anyway.. Dots packing sorted.. just need he add her enormous goose which she uses as a pillow. (to annoy the deputy head who is a 'most unpleasant little man' .. he said no one was allowed to take cuddlies on the residential!) her food for Thursday.. ran the DW, cooked 3 dinners.. bossed OH about.. did 5 packed lunches.. sorted some socks... and watched the rain.
My feet are so painful.. I wish they would fall off.

Hello all. It's quiet on here today.
I was going to reply to a post from YSL but it's disappeared so here's my reply for the rest of you. Still fuming with DH as he didn't apologise for messing up my plans yesterday.
Today I have done one frustrating work shift, dailies , walked Poppet, dusted light fittings and put three items on fb.Spend less now, work less later.5 -
Afternoon all.
J arrived at 9.00 promptly with his long-handled pruner. After mowing the lawn (with the lawn mower, of course), he cut back the pyracantha, holly tree (now bush!) and Japanese quince, while I chopped up the thinner cut-off branches with my secateurs, ready for binning. I also pulled up the strawberry plants, topped up the tubs with new compost, put up canes, and disentangled and transplanted the climbing French and runner beans that I had grown from seed, while J chopped up the thicker branches and carried the rubbish out to the bin..
And what was DH doing all this time? As has become his habit, after breakfast he took himself back to bed until J had left at 11.00. At that point he opened his bedroom window and commented that the garden looked much better. I pointed out that he could have come and helped. No reaction from DH, except to book a table for a meal out tonight at a local pub (he was sent a money-off voucher which expires tomorrow). Can't say I'm over-excited - I'm joining forces with Jazee.
I made scrambled egg for an early lunch, took 2 parrots with my coffee to soothe my aching back, and have sat for an hour. Now I have to go to Action Heart to do even more exercise. Wish me luck!

I think I need this threadI had an injury at Christmas and Im afraid to say, housework never got looked at for months and with a cat and a dog and living in the country, it shouldn't have been left so long, the whole house is looking really shabby as well as hairyNot helped by the fact my trusty vacuum died a death and Ive been struggling with a Henry that just couldn't cope, plus I found it to be too awkward to useSo I finally got a new vacuum last week and it took 3 empties just for the living room carpet and stairs - told you it was badI have vacuumed a couple of times since, filling the canister each time. Today I did the whole house as well as the walls and skirtings and everywhere else - and only half filled it - so Im winningBut the whole house is just ughAnd doing just that has worn me outSo Im going to read back and hope for some inspiration7

Welcome Longwalker
Don't get too stressed; none of us are perfect and your house took a while to get messy - it will take a while to clean. Read the first post for inspiration and information.
I have just popped home to get my washing in before the forecast rain turns up. What's the betting it won't now? I love working so close to home. I was also v. good as I brougght some labels (from my own stock) to finish off a job here.
