How many from Santa, how many from you?

Santa presents are anything that would be to much trouble wrapping (either too small or too big) and we just stick them in the sack/stocking. We will also put a few wrapped under the tree from us together with all presents from relatives (wouldn't dream of having relatives presents not being identified as from the relative).0

Santa brings the Christmas morning presents and we all swap family presents after lunch including the children giving to each other (I have 4 kids so it is quite a swap).
My MIL used to give my kids presents and claim santa left them at her house, I never really got this idea as I like the children to know that people choose for each other and for them at Christmas. PLUS..Santa doesn't deliver forever does he?0 -
i think every families definition of what santa does is different. i would recommend santa brings the stocking or small pressie route, more so as kids get older and things get more expensive. you have the excuse that you can only afford so much, rather than getting into the expensive trap where kids expect everything from santa regardless of price, or kids expect all big presents from santa. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-09

Father Christmas delivers the stocking usually around £15-20 value, rest of pressies are under the tree & from real people.

when the kids go to the grandparents they are told that Santa left the presents there too as he knew some kids come playing there sometimes. This is their choice - just makes it more special IMHO.
We do excactly the same. I cant understand how some people feel the need to take credit for buying the presents, thats not what it is about.
My children do not get greedy and ask for too much, as they know that Father Christmas needs room on his sleigh for other childrens presents!!0 -

!!
its not about being greedy - I like to be able to say to DS this is from mummy because it shows that I love him and care for him and went to the trouble of going out and buying/finding/making something he really wanted.
Christmas to me is about family and gift giving is a way to show your appreciation, care and love for each other.
I don't feel it needs to be from santa to make it special or magical, just the three days of having the fmaily close together is good.DEBT: £500 credit card £800 Bank overdraft

Presents are from us and people who have bought them. They do get sent to Santa to delivery, although some people miss the last day for delivering to Santa and they have to go under the tree

He then deliveries the rest of the presents on Christmas Eve and leaves a stocking for the good girls and boys

PLUS..Santa doesn't deliver forever does he?
Course he does!!!! :rotfl:
when me and my brother were younger all our presents from our parents came from santa, one main present and the rest little stocking fillers and an apple and orange which were left in a pillow case at the end of our bed. we would drag our pillowcases into our parents room early christmas morning and open our presents from santa!
the rest of our presents came from whoever was giving them, that way we could write and thank those who got us gifts. we never questioned why our parents never got us anything and why santa did. In fact I had never really thought about that until reading this threadfinally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0 -
Loobysaver, for mine we tell them that we buy the toys, they get sent to santa. Santa then decides who that toy should go to off the nice list:D . This was invented as we couldn't always get shopping by ourselves and when the kids were with us they would say'that's for me for xmas'. So we told them the above and now they know that no matter what they find does not mean it is for them. But will go to santa ready for him to deliver to a good boy/girl.;) So all the prezzies are addressed from who brought them. Obviously santa makes mistakes and drops presents off elsewhere by mistake, like nan & grandads. But they questioned this ,this year so I have told them that it's because he can't get everything to our house as there is too much to carry.:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11
