It was always the stocking from Santa then I would give the most expensive pressies I bought from me and the rest from Santa. All pressies from other people were from them as I always make sure my children Thank them after Christmas.

Now they don't believe anymore but the stockings are still from Santa and always will be ;)

Oh iv never thought of doing this.
All my 4 kids think everything is from the big man!
When asked one year what have you got us i replied
"Me and dad make sure you have loads of goodies to eat, xmas films to watch, nice food, and decorate the house, if me and dad dont do all that Santa wont come!"
They all agreed that without all the things we do, christmas wouldnt be christmas.
I just cant bring myself to tell them we buy things. (Although my older kids have worked it out, but they never say it, which im pleased about as it would spoil the magic)

  • We do much the same as everyone else -sack (used to be stocking but some things just wouldn't fit in it) on beds filled with stuff from Father Christmas and a more expensive gift under the tree from us. Father Christmas is pretty generous though -he brings DVDs, books, games, sweets, small items of clothing, jigsaws. In fact that is why my ds2 aged 10 still believes in him, he doesn't think we'd be that generous  -think we've made a rod for our own backs. Mind you I love seeing them open their sacks and their presents.

when my daughter was 4 the first thing she said on seeing the stash under the tree was oh look mummy FC has the same wrapping paper as you !!

The film Elf has a classic line in it, where papa elf explains that over the years more and more children think its the parents that leave the presents, my kids face every time it gets to that bit is brill, they all look at each other but dont say a word! I love the fact that they think they know but wont say anything as iv always told them if you dont belive he doesnt come!!
    Im cruel thought!!LOL

  • Santa has always brought all the presents including the stocking but my son has been told that mummy and daddy send Santa money because one year his christmas list came to nearly a £1000  this included one of those climbing frames from ELC, which he didn't get. I don't spend anywhere near that amount and he thought it wasn't a problem beacuase it was coming from Santa and he was comparing the value of the presents his friends got.
Presents from relatives are just that and labelled as such and usually given to the kids by them, I didn't know people took these presents and said they were from Santa.
This year my hi-tec son who is almost 10 has written his christmas list on the computer and he has copied and pasted pictures from the internet of what he would like and then emailed it to us for Santa.

I always thought my Mum gave all the presents to santa before Christmas and he just dropped them off. A bit far fetched, but I was the child that believed Santa hopped over from Austria on Christmas eve especially for us half Austrian kids then came back on Christmas day to deliver presents to my friends.

I think this just stemmed from knowing deep down just how much effort my Mum put in. I'm pretty cross about all this santa business, and how people take gifts from friends and relatives and give them to their kids 'from santa'. I'm not suggesting the gift givers deserve a pat on the back, but I think its rude and not in the spirit of giving

The main present (this yr its a wii) is from us & goes under the tree, also 2 smaller presents which they can open on xmas eve. The rest is from santa;)
