PayPal charges

Hi all - I have a PayPal account.  I want to pay a USA holiday company in dollars for an upcoming trip. They sent me a link to their PayPal account. I have been in contact with the help centre and I’m told “personal payment sent to international account, there will be a fee of 5% of the transaction amount. The minimum fee is GBP0.99 and the maximum fee is GBP £2.99.
Has anyone made such a payment and does anyone know the true transaction costs?

Can't comment on the fee's but it should be on the PP site the charges.
Just make sure the payment is not via friends & family. As you lose any cover.

Don't they take credit or debit cards?  (Use one of the travel ones if so!)

Is this some sort of specialist trip that only a US based company is offering? I'd agree with the previous comment that if they don't accept credit cards then I'd be very wary of paying this way - yes PayPal have their own buyer protection offering but it's not S75.

And that's before even considering the charges - does PP give a near perfect FX rate like the travel credit cards, or will you lose out there?
