All that sounds a bit of a faf just to get photo ID, not sure if a provisional driving licence would be any easier (it would be cheaper......)0

Which is fine for proving your age to get the concession price in the cinema or such but are not normally on the list of acceptable IDs for more serious things like KYC checks or DBS etcMagnolia said:I use my bus pass - or my senior rail card

Another question. For applying for a passport, I can't find anyone to countersign that I've known for 2 years and is a passport holder.I read here on the Consumer Advisory website that if someone cannot find someone to countersign their passport, they can submit a signed declaration instead. But when looking online about this, I haven't read about any instance where someone said they've done this and had their application approved.Does anyone know if that is an option?0

No stated requirement for them to be a passport holder and the list of occupations is so long its hard to believe that you wont know anyone who is a manager in a company thats VAT registered... does the manager of your local cornershop or pub or bakery know you?0 -
No. I don't go to pubs. I don't know any shop managers either. I don't shop in smaller shops such as cornershops as most of them have closed down now.DullGreyGuy said:

I go to the dentist, but unfortunately my dentist is new so I've only known him for a short while, not 2 years.
I've found another site that mentions its possible to submit a signed declaration in circumstances when a person does not know anyone who can countersign.
However, I haven't read anywhere online where anyone has said they've done that. So I don't know what the procedure is or if its possible. Is that likely to be an option?
