UK Passport Question

Nowadays, many things require photo ID so a passport is necessary.

When applying for a UK passport, if they ask what's the reason for wanting a passport, is it okay giving the reason that I want it for photo ID or does a person need to have an intention to travel aboard?

Has anyone here applied for a passport when you just wanted it for photo ID, but not travelling abroad?

I don't think they do ask that question, so I wouldn't worry about it

As above, requesting a passport needs no reason to be given.

Do you drive? A photo driving licence will do.

If only we had a UK identity card like many other European countries.........................

Not really sure why so many people are against them, it would make things much easier for so many people (including the police if you have nothing to hide....)

https://www.gov.uk/identitycards   We did have them. They got scrapped when the conservatives got into power.

I don't remember ever having one - and they were voluntary I think ?
