hi,
yeah adding a cable to the antenna does assist with boosting the signal.
it is also advised that you don't expand the telescopic antenna when a cable is attached, it interfeeres with the reception.
because the cable acts like the antenna, you could then add a seperate metle long rod or suchlike, to the end of the cable, to direct the signal reception.
the rod would act like a directional antenna.
