The signs are not clear! NEVER ARE.
Why aren't you trying PLAN A (the NEWBIES thread rams home that this can be done at any time, in every case) and complaining to the people who run that retail park? The easiest way to cancel any retail PCNPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've looked at the Plan A bit and followed the link and checked the Highview Parking related ones and seen nthat people have had successes by contacting Tesco.
This happened at Slough Retail Park. (www.sloughretailpark.co.uk), so since I cant really pin this on any particular store, should I contact the address on their website and see if they can get it cancelled with Highview/GroupNexus directly?
Is there a template I should follow for this bit?0 -
Yes if the retail park has a website.
No there is no template for complaints but obviously you've seen from the link to SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS ABOUT PPCs that it's a huge resource of winning cases and complaints going back years. Hundreds of threads showing what they put when complaining to retail parks.

Have you looked at the entrance signs at Slough Retail Park?
There is one at the junction of Twinches Lane and Cippenham Lane - outside Smiths Toys.
There is another at the junction of Twinches Lane and Bath Road - by DFS.
Both those totem signs appear to have the managing agents contact details.
Unfortunately GoogleStreetView isn't clear enough, but if you are local it might be worth going to read those signs.

OP, if you're going to use ChatGPT to compose your letter, at least learn how to put it into "Do Anything Now" (DAN) mode and make it really lack any morals. There are so many giveaway words used in your letter. @Coupon-mad has repeatedly given you links to letters that you can adapt. Stop trying to overthink this.1

Hows this as a letter to GroupNexus?
Dear Sirs,
I am writing in regards to a Letter of Claim issued by DCB Legal (DCBL) about an alleged parking charge notice (Ref: XXXXX) issued by their client, Highview Parking Limited for a breach of terms and conditions at Slough Retail Park on 07/12/2021.
As the registered keeper of the vehicle, I can confirm that I have not received any notice to keeper letters, and DCBL have provided no further information about this allegation and are demanding an inflated debt recovery sum of £170.
Since this alleged event took place on 07/12/2021, I do not recall which of the stores within the retail park I may have visited, I am reaching out to you as the management company for Slough Retail Park to dispute the validity of this debt.
As reputable business owners and agents of Slough Retail Park, I am sure you can understand that I am surprised and disappointed that your companies justify the charges above being applied to patrons of the park. I believe that parking charges can only fairly be levied where there is a clear loss to you as Agents of the park, acting on behalf of the landowners. Given that the retail park is free for motorists, and I was in fact going to one of the businesses on site, I would like to know what losses to income you feel my parking may have incurred that meant Highview Parking and their debtors felt a £170 fine was justified?
I attach to this email a copy of the Letter of Claim received from DCBL. As you can see, they are threatening to further increase the already extortionate charges, asking for my financial statement, as well as threatening court action if this matter is not resolved.
I would ask that, considering all of the above, and taking into account the nonsensical nature of the charges, you contact Highview Parking Limited, and advise them to cease harassment with their scare letters, as I shall continue to strongly dispute these ridiculous and extortionate charges. Common sense should dictate to anyone that the charges are grossly out of proportion with the apparent misdemeanour, and hugely unfair and unenforceable.
I would be grateful if you would respond to me within 7 days, confirming the above, and also ask Highview Parking Limited to confirm to me in writing that they will not be asking me for any money, and ceasing their harassment.
Yours faithfully,
NAME

I'm not using ChatGPT for this. I'm taking bits from various other posts on here and compiling them into something which I feel fits with my case.B789 said:OP, if you're going to use ChatGPT to compose your letter, at least learn how to put it into "Do Anything Now" (DAN) mode and make it really lack any morals. Why are you writing to Group Nexus (aka Highview)? They are using a solicitor to avoid getting any correspondence.
You said this is a letter 'to Group Nexus' yet you then say in that draft: "I am reaching out to you as the management company for Slough Retail Park".
GN are not managing agents.
And this makes no sense because GN are Highview:
"I would ask that, considering all of the above, and taking into account the nonsensical nature of the charges, you contact Highview Parking Limited,"
And this falls into their trap completely:
"Common sense should dictate to anyone that the charges are grossly out of proportion with the apparent misdemeanour, and hugely unfair and unenforceable."
They'll laugh. Beavis case killed that argument and the fact you are saying it shows them you are a perfect victim for them to sue, because you are wrong in law to say the above.
Dealing with defences like that is like shooting fish in a barrel for this industry.
