"Activating the holiday setting will turn off the central heating system. Frost protection and heating of domestic hot water will stay activated."I believe the frost protection is below 4C - its certainly not done that over the past week!
But, the meter also increased when I turned it off (and no DHW request) and also when I isolated the gas to the meter.

Just going back to the emergency shut off valve, are you sure it didn't come with a tool (lever) that slots over the flat sides to assist turning?
Like a sort of reverse Allen key. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.56% of current retirement "pot" (as at end January 2025)0 -

I wasn't provided with (or have found) any other tool since i moved into the premises (5 years ago). It can also be turned by a pair of pliers (with the yellow lid taken off).1 -
When sharing a large file like a video, you should upload it to something like Google Drive, One Drive or Dropbox then share a link to it rather than trying to email the file itself.1

MeteredOut said:Quick update - after a few more phone calls, I have finally managed to speak to someone at EDF who can the request in for an OFMAT test. This has been sent to their gas metering team.
However, they also asked for photos of the last 7 days of meter readings, which I have provided. I did this before and the metering team looked at them and said there was no discrepancy, so they refused to take things further.
Their mailbox could also not accept the video showing the meter increasing even when isolated (it was compressed/reduced as much as I could).
Fingers crossed they actually schedule the test...1 -
How on earth has it become the consumers responsibility to try and prove there is a fault with the meter, I'd suggest you phone them again and be firmer and insist on having your meter tested. These meters can and do register without passing gas.3
