As mentioned above, the sort code you've been trying to use seems to be for CHAPS payments only.

I agree with you. I think it is yet another clerical mistake, but a pretty serious one. They put that chaps for Bacs mistake in both my welcome letters, issued on two separate dates, not to mention telling me how to operate the branch saver online.

May I ask what you put for the account name for your inward faster payments? Is it "Hanley Economic BS" or "Mr/Mrs Refluxer" ?

Hanley Economic Building Society. As that is the name associated with account number 09995102.

HEBS then credit your account.

Is anyone else having trouble logging on to your account?  I couldn't log on last night, or this morning.  Keeps saying

Yes, it was like that for me before and after midnight, and still the same now

Thank you @gwapenut, I know they had another computer glitch on the 31st Aug, I guess it's a hangover from that.

Apologies - I just checked and I'd remembered incorrectly. I put 'Hanley Economic Building Society' down as the payee name.

I had the same for my last but one addition to funds, it first showed received (as an addition), then received but not allocated (as a deduction), then received again, this was all on the same date (the last but one computer glitch they had).  I know they had another glitch on the 31st August, so I imagine it's because of the same reason, so hopefully, it'll show as received again soon.  I haven't been able to log on since last Friday, but haven't tried again today.

Thanks, I've seen the same pattern when adding funds.

Is there a daily limit on incoming faster payments to an account? I couldn't really get a straight answer. I know there is a £10k limit per faster payment, but not whether it was also a daily limit. Things got confused on the phone between incoming and outgoing limits.

I also gather that if I have a joint account and a sole account, any daily limits apply per account rather than to me as a person across all accounts
