The only advantage I can see with that very large unnecessary boxing in, is that you can place a mug of tea on there while reading the morning paper.😂
Why did you say large unnecessary boxing in, what would have been the alternative in this situation?
Once you had decided to box it in, I think anything smaller would have looked unusual.

I suspect pipework could have been moved slightly so the boxing in was smaller.  It look fine as it is though, I would have no complaints about that in my own house.

I think it looks fine. Yes, it could have been made smaller with moving the pipes and stuff, but why bother if the end result looks ok anyway? It's not like the small amount of space you would save could be used for anything useful anyway

Thanks am happy with the end result.

Unnecessary, because that top pipe from the outlet from the vanity unit sink, could have been joined into the lower pipe( from bath) behind the vanity unit. Thus one lower pipe.
The isolation valve could have been put underneath the wc ( so accessible).
Then you could have a lot smaller boxing in, and could have been tiled to match the wall tiles.

To all those who think that the large ugly pipe boxing looks ok. You must have far greater  lower standards than myself.
If you can give me a reason why the above couldn’t be achieved, then please do so.

Or it could have been inside the wall.  Or maybe even in the floor.  That's not the point here

The OP asked for advice on boxing in these pipes, so you suggest rearranging the pipes and then abuse them for doing a pretty decent DIY job with the materials that they had available.

"if you don't agree with me, you must have lower standards" - gosh, you must be fun to know.

It wasn’t a Diy job, a builder has fitted it, and I presume the bathroom too. They didn’t have materials available, they went a bought them. So the boxing in could have been tiled.
with just a little more thought and time. Instead ended up imo poor job. And I think in time the op will regret not having it done to a better standard.
And care to tell me what abuse I have given the Op .
Maybe  I do have an issue? Like taking pride in my work, for myself and customers benefit.

According to the majority of your posts, nobody ever does a job as well as you would have done it... Do you also go into every customers house and go 'oh you've had some cowboys in here love'

The boxing in looks fine,it is in a space you can't use for anything else anyway, and the OP is happy with it. You may have done it a different way, but the end result would be exactly the same

No it wouldn’t be the same, it could have been tiled to match existing tiles. One of the tiles could have been adapted to a hatch to gain access to the isolation valve. Plus on the rare occasions when there is an issue with the Wc the main stop valve could be used.
And I wouldn’t call anyone Love as that’s disrespectful. If you think it’s fine you have lower standards than myself.

Maybe you should take a look at the OP other post regarding her new kitchen installation, would you say that’s fine also ?

I stand corrected - having gone back and read the thread, it does say that a builder did it and that they both went to the store.
