Replacing an old Economy 7 heater with a modern one, will I save much on electric bills?

Could you put up a picture of fuse box and RCD? If it's a dedicated RCD it almost certainly won't provide overload protection, so wouldn't trip on a L N fault.

Multiple fuses blowing sounds like a serious fault somewhere.

1st is RCD -Notice Down Switch Green after Red

Some switches to right of rcd went down today.

2nd I was told is Heating/hot water old style fuses, inc' Low Rate which drives DQ Off Peak I can check Neon tonight.

thanks one of blue/red may need replaced if off peak neon fails tonight.

Did the electrician pull the cartridge and check the fuse/fusewire inside? Electricians these days always love to find cartridge type fuses in homes as it guarantees them replacement work. Personally, I'm happy to remain with my old cartridge fuses as they've done the job just fine for the last 50 years.

I cannot say if any Cartridges were checked or removed.
My concern is Maplan are long gone, if this DQ Neon fails it could mean online order into next weeks and some quite awkward Cartridge removal re try one a time  fault finding.

ps I like those modern little switches, much easier if any trip.

Each sockets are switched on.

OK on that non-offpeak board the first switch with Red toggle labelled "Main Switch" is just a switch to cut power to all circuits served by that board. After that you have ..

RCD (Black toggle and Green label)
Then it looks like four MCBs for circuits protected by that RCD. If that RCD is off then those four circuits should be off as well.

Then another RCD followed by MCBs for its circuits.

A single fault could trip one MCB, one RCD, or or both. If more than one MCB trips you have something more serious than just a faulty appliance.

Considering everything Non Heating/Water continues to work after I restored trip switches.
I'll know better tonight or tomorrow as Heating is setup to use Low Rate tonight and NSH in hall was working including last night as was Hot water, interesting to determine which of those are working tomorrow.
