Er I'm trying to melt Chocolate to make these Cornflake Cakes, but the chocolate isn't melting, it's just lumping up..how comes?0 -

Maybe adding some milk (small dash) might help? I last melted mine in the microwave, for twenty second blasts at a time.0

how are you melting it you should put it in a bowl over a pan with boiling water in it but easier way is to put in microwave not as faffy and its quicker.0

I added the milk and stirred in Cornflakes but it just looks lumping and is just sticking. I thought when you melted chocolate it melts to a liquid. Thanks you two anyway the milk helped a bit..0

If the chocolate that you are using is like the cooking chocolate stuff, Scotbloc type chocolate, then if any liquid at all goes into the chocolate, even if the bowl that you are using isn't properly dry or a little spot of water goes into it, it just goes into a lump and is beyond recovery, from my knowledge of using the stuff anyway.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot.
