Hi
I went to meet and greet drop my car off zone today and got lost circled around and turned around in a entrance to a builders depot just down the road from where I needed to go ,turned around on this gravel area and I noticed that the speed camera van was stopped in the road ??
I thought that's for me he was going to say you can't stop there , however I just carried on into the right place ..
Is this a 100 pound fine coming my way
Can some people give me some links to read and what to do ..
Just what I needed before I go on holiday sat in the airport now writing this as I guarantee I'll get something though the post
Cheers big Dave

What do you think you've done illegally?2

Speed camera van does what it says on the tin. Catches people speeding. Not interested in you driving in a bus lane or parked on double yellows = Were you speeding?

I would imagine you saw a van like this...
Bristol Airport is patrolled by Vehicle Control Services and they are just waiting for people to trip up over their silly rules.
'No stopping' is their favourite rule.
@Fruitcake knows this entrapment area well.
If you ever do get a Parking Charge Notice - yes they send a Parking Charge Notice for stopping on a red line - then get this thread moved to the Parking tickets board.
Perhaps the easiest way to make that happen, is to simply hit the Report button -- below your post and ask for the thread to be moved.
But keep in mind... MSE's Forum Team doesn't work at weekends.6 -
I'm local to Brizzle airport and I have a few photos and a dashcam video that might help.
If you do get anything, it won't be a fine, but do not ignore it.
Using Google Maps, please show us where precisely your vehicle was when you saw the scamera car.
Note that the meet and greet car park is separate to the drop off car park. I think you have to go through the drop off car park to access the meet and greet car park, which is managed by NCP whereas the no stopping zone is mis-managed by VCS.
In addition, read the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES in the Parking Forum that will tell you everything you need to do if a VCS love letter drops through your letterbox.

Yes that's the van and I tuned around where the red dot is and I was unsure where to go and looked at my phone then pulled back off after 30 seconds

No I wasn't speeding but he did stop in the live lane coming back out from the big hotels road
North side rd .with his hazards on looking at me I was on the gravel hardstand outside that compound with the red dot on looking th where I had to go for the meet and greet destination.0 -
Plan A is always a complaint from the keeper to the landowner (who I am sure will ignore it), the landowner's sub-contractor, (Bristol Airport Ltd), and the keeper's MP.
That hardstanding is outside the area where VCS are contracted to operate. That will be one of several appeal points if you do get an NTK.
You will also use: -
Not the landowner. (The airport is owned by a foreign investment company)
No contract with or flowing from the landowner to issue charges. (Their contract is with a sub-contractor, not the landowner).
Not relevant land/no keeper liability, airport byelaws apply. See the PoFA 2012.
Stopping is not parking. Jopson v Homeguard applies
Stopping to check directions is a permitted byelaws activity and is not a breach of airport byelaws.
No "No Stopping signs" on the hardstanding.
Outside the "No Stopping double red lines".
Do not under any circumstances identify the driver. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people as fart as the law is concerned.
Did you ask for this thread to be moved to the parking forum?
Please also tell us the outcome of your Premier Park thread from last year.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks3 -
I received a fine off 100 pounds CN notice
They did take a photo as I stopped to check location on where I had to go .
What's my steps to do now please ..0 -
It's all spelled out in Fruitcakes post.
Who issued the "fine"? It's almost certainly a spurious invoice from VCS with no basis but intended to spook you into paying them.
