Wii - let down by Amazon

:mad::mad::mad:Anybody else been disappointed by Amazon????

I ordered a Wii console on Wednesday night after checking this forum and seeing that they had some in stock, with express delivery guaranteed for Friday before 1.

When I logged on this morning (slightly concerned because it hadn't shipped yesterday evening) I found that they were now saying it wouldn't come until after Christmas and they had emailed me after midnight to tell me.

My credit card has already been debited and they are sending it to my office, even though there won't be anyone there for another two weeks after today.

I'm disappointed, although not really surprised, but does anyone know if they can actually cancel the order and refund my credit card now, as I don't want it if I can't have it for Christmas present ???? It says on my account that it's too late to cancel, but I wouldn't have ordered if they weren't guaranteeing delivery!!

I got the same e-mail, but my delivery is showing 24th - 27th December now which is frustrating!

However it does say I can cancel it.

does it say items dispatching soon ? If so they might try and deliver on Moday if anyones in the office.

May be to late to cancel, but you can try. You can def return it.

You may not find another one before xmas tho.

There was a large delivery of them to Gamestation in Durham yesterday ... if you live anywhere near there that is! No ideas re refund though, sorry.

You will definately be able to cancel your order, I have just cancelled my nintendo ds order because the same has happened with them!

My local Gamestation had Wii in stock last night.

As usual, retailers have suddenly 'found' more stock just before Xmas.

The same happened with the 60GB PS3, which was discontinued and no more would be available. They're suddenly available again a week before Xmas...

I ordered mine on wednesday after seeing it on this forum. They have dispatched it on thursday and as per tracking its sitting in my local courier depot, so I am expecting a delivery today. I didn't got for expensive delivery option, I just opted for standard first class. so they gonna send it by parcel force.

i've managed to get in touch with amazon this morning and they reckon they do have my wii in stock ready for despatch, and they said they should be able to change the delivery address to my house for monday.

if anybody else gets the email from them it may be worth speaking to them - my email said that they didn't have any in stock as they'd been let down by the supplier, but the woman in customer service swears it's in the despatch bay ready to go today.

here's hoping!

I agree - don't despair - my order said delivery between 21-27th December but also said won't be delivered until after the 25th Dec. Spoke to customer service who were pretty useless and basically they weren't guaranteeing delivery before Christmas - I guess on the theory that if they manage to get it to you on time you'll be delighted. Anyway I got an email yesterday saying that it will be arriving today which is fantastic! Hope you're as lucky as me!

on the cancelling issue - i pre ordered fifa 08 for my son a few months ago from them thinking it would arrive on the day but we didnt get it for about a week later so i complained saying what was the point of the pre order blah blah and i wanted to cancel it
they emailed back and said although it was too late to cancel the order that i should just refuse delivery for the item so i didnt have to pay postage to send it back
as it happens the postie put a red card in for it - so i went down to the sorting office and said ive got this card but im refusing delivery anyway - they put a sticker on it and about a week later i got my money refunded
