  • Just called for an update - been told that the order is ready to be shipped and that I should still receive before xmas even though my online account reads that I will receive after xmas. Either way will definitely be here by the 27th. At least there's no extra £30-50 markup!

    Update!!!
The midnight email telling me it is out of stock just showed up then a couple of minutes later I got a call back from the chap I'd spoken to saying it was out out for delivery and should arrive today or tomorrow, account still says being prepaired for dispatch, me thinks their database is creaking under the strain!!!

    Hi there

A journalist from the Telegraph is writing an article about people buying goods for Christmas online and them not arriving in time.

He'd really like to interview somebody that this has happened too - it would be great if you could have a quick chat for him (it also might also help your case, if it's published in the Telegraph!).

If this sounds like something you'd be up for, please PM me your telephone number and I will pass it on to the journalist.

    Thanks and Happy Christmas!

    Jenny
It looks more like a problem of stock and supply rather than one of delivery. I have had 7 different orders on 7 different occasions all delivered on time over the last week. Admittedly though Amazon had exactly the same problem when they couldn't deliver the Xbox 360 on launch for people who pre-ordered as they had problems with supply.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

Just had an email confirming dispatch along with a tracking number for delivery tomorrow.
Plus checking my account they have refunded me double the postage so even got the Wii a bit cheaper!
  • Just had my e-mail from amazon advising it has been sent via Citylink and will arrive tomorrow (estimated).

Cannot fault them for what they do.

Yep, have a citylink tracking number which on their site confirms it is due for delivery tomorrow for mine as well.
Pity they didn't get it right first time, wouldn't have minded if they'd said a 24 hr delay but was a bit annoying when they said the in stock item ordered was out of stock for some unknown time!
  • :mad:more problems at amazon!

i phoned amazon yesterday afternoon to see what the status of my order was. they confirmed it was going out last night for delivery today. i told them that my office was now closed for 2 weeks, and they said they would contact citylink with my home address, and took my mobile number so that citylink could call me to confirm the new delivery address.

i phoned them this morning to confirm this and they said that it had been done, and took my mobile number again and promised to have citylink call me.

at lunchtime today, my amazon account updated to say citylink had delivered the parcel to my office - probably in the 30 seconds that the caretaker was there. i've dashed back to work this afternoon but there's no sign of anyone around. amazon have offered me a £30 refund but that doesn't excuse the fact that there will be no wii at christmas and i've paid for it and won't see it for 2 weeks.

i realise that amazon have been swamped but they must have known there would be problems with guranteed express delivery if they released 1000 wii consoles less than a week before christmas.

can you not ask the care taker if he will let you in the office if you explain to him why, maybe give him a tenner for his trouble

nothing in life is guaranteed, if you wanted it for xmas then should have planned and bought earlier. But does it really make a difference if you have it for the 25th or not, most ppl get so much crap that one less toy isn't going to make a lot of difference.

if you want/need something that bad then you have have to get up earlier!

Amazon use lots of delivery companies, once it's out of thier warehouse there's little they can do.
