I e got private plates only because a previous car I bought had a plate that meant something to me plus as I get older I can’t be arsed to keep learning new regn numbers every time I changed cars, lol:A Goddess :A1

My daughter-in-law had a PNP for her 18th birthday. Now married, the initials are meaningless (and I haven't seen the plate for several years). Guess she saw the light and flogged it on!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

Having recently decided that it is quite nice not have people spot where you may be by seeing the PP, I got rid of mine when I changed cars. It is a real pain remembering the number plate on parking machines! I also made a profit!
I have 2 friends with PPs for logical reasons. One wanted to be able to change the car without the ex making comments to the kids about spending on a new car (she is now on the 3rd car, same colour and type, the OH isn't interested in cars enough to spot it is a newer version). Another finds that her OH is more willing to keep the car for longer if it isn't obvious to all how old it is.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Down side neighbours never know if you have bought a brand new car or not 🤣So can lose out in the one up stakes 😶🌫️
Mine is part of my name, part something else. To people that know me get it. Anyone else will not be aware.
£250 is nothing compared to the cost of a car.Life in the slow lane2 -
If you want a pnp but can't afford one, change your name to match your number plate.
I did that.

A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".6 -

I don’t mind them so much if they make sense, when they have to move numbers/ letters around, use the wrong colour screw caps etc they look stupid.I doubt I would ever have one, I think anyone who knows/likes cars can pretty much guess a cars age anyway.2

I suppose you can liken it to those who like to spend thousands on music systems in their cars, lowering suspension ect, people like to be different, yes, all number plates are personal, ( to the car) if you think about it, I have one with my initials, but it doesn’t spell anything and it didn’t cost a fortune, the best one I have seen was on a Lamborghini, HE 11YEH, but I seem to remember it getting nicked ( the car) it was bright green so look out for it…2
