At that level of usage & no seemingly obvious explanation I’d try switching the power off completely for a few hours & see if the next door house has a power cut. Unlikely, but worth ruling out! It’s an incomprehensible amount without an obvious cause.1

It wouldn't hurt and hadn't thought of that, we found they were using our water outside and their extension but the water board say its our responsibility to disconnect that....Novice_investor101 said:At that level of usage & no seemingly obvious explanation I’d try switching the power off completely for a few hours & see if the next door house has a power cut. Not sure if it was already suggested and I missed it, but as you do have a smart electric meter you should be able to access your usage data to see exactly when this energy was being used. The “Bright” app is frequently recommended here for this purpose.
It would not directly show what is using the energy, but seeing how much and at what times it’s being used can be a huge help in identifying the issue e.g. if it’s the same amount of power being used at the same time each day that would suggest something like a heating appliance around the specified wattage on a timer somewhere, a variable power draw at different times would indicate an activity a person is doing is the cause and examining what’s going on in the household at those times can help find the answer.Moo…3 -
20kwk a day would 'only' be 7,300kwh a year, The must be some electric heat somewhere for it to be 12k a year. What is the meter install date?
A PC in sleep is likely only 4-10w so not a problem to worry about. Even 2 Gaming pc's would 'only' be 5 KWH a day each, So 3 pc's and the normal house load could be 20kwh a day, but not 12K a year.
Here's the smart plugs we usually recommend, Not currently on sale, so look at other shops.

A 1900's house with a cellar goes a long way to explain your gas consumption - you are trying to heat a fridge.Frazerjclark said:
