And yes I’ve read in the newbies thread about posting your defence via tracked royal mail.
But that's not what the Template Defence thread says.  So DON'T do that.

What so don’t post your defence to the court tracked? Do it online? I havent read the defence template yet just copied and pasted it into a word document ready to read through.

Presumably sentences that read something like... "do not send a Defence by Royal Mail" and "do not use any tracked service".

I did however before this chat look at the section on defence online and saved an empty document nothing written down as of yet. Not sure if this will register my defence online, don’t think it would as I haven't typed anything.
Not exactly sure what that means.
Are you saying that you have put something in the Defence and Counterclaim box on the MCOL website?
What do you mean by "saved an empty document"?
    Big mistake.

My earlier post stated "and then file a Defence by email...".
See the words by email in there?

    Slow down.

A note to anybody reading this: I keep a clothes peg in my car, which I clip onto the ticket so it won't flutter.
(Taking care not to cover up any important info on the ticket, of course!)

I recommend printing and posting (registered) to Northampton, trying to fit it in the online box destroys the formatting, and makes it hard for the Judge to read.
Thats from a link I was taken to written by ‘bargepole’. I’ve said this before I appreciate your help so don’t take this the wrong way but theres so many links, questions and threads that its really difficult to navigate this site.

@KeithP: Before reading stuff I was going to do my defence online. I havent written anything in the box but wanted to see what the defence page looked like so clicked the link, wrote nothing, but pressed the save button (not submit button) so it was ready for the next time I logged on.

You can obviously save your work and revisit the site before you submit.

You can fit the necessary comment into the online box by creating a Text Box using 9pt font, then pasting into the form.

Sending documents to the CCBC by post runs the very real risk of it getting lost.
Eek no the poster is talking about their DEFENCE!

    @ParkingScum:

I know bargepole says post it but whilst the rest - telling you about court procedures and the various stages - is very useful, that thread is an OLD POST by comparison.

Whereas the template defence was re-written/edited just last week!

Please just read the Template Defence thread...

What exactly is wrong with the tried and tested method of filing a Defence by email as described in the opening post of the Template Defence thread?
