Trying to order on Amazon without free Prime trial
Comments

I got that when placing an order the other week. There is no obvious 'decline' button, but there is usually a faint text saying something like 'No thanks' or 'Not now' that I clicked to decline the Prime trial.
It doesn't stand out and is not very obvious at all, you have to know to look for it.
There are different ones, but something like this although often not even as obvious as this one:
PS. I have in the past accepted the Prime offer and then just canceled it after my order was delivered free the next day.

When Amazon requested it, I sent the screenshot with the blue box clearly visible. They accepted this, said it was a technical error and would fix it. I have to reorder in 24 hours.0 -

As soon as the order is placed, you should be able to cancel your Prime membership in your account, which will be confirmed by email and you'll still have Prime membership for 30 daysI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Any time I've ordered anything on Amazon it certainly does everything possible to push you to accept the free trial, but there is/was an option in small print to continue without Amazon Prime.I've just raised a dummy order on Amazon and the OP seems to be correct. There is no way to decline the free offer. You do have to go in after the event and cancel.2

I ticked the 'No thanks' box, TELLIT01, and, every time on the check out page next, there was a blue box confirming the free Amazon Prime offer was activated. There was no way of refusing it and, I cancelled the order and eventually contacted Amazon.
Amazon confirmed it was a technical error. I have been advised by Amazon order after 24 hours (from yesterday evening) and it will have been fixed by then.
I really do understand that I could have ordered then cancel the free trial offer - but I just wanted to order 'normally' without the trial offer.0 -

Using a different browser usually cures the problem

I agree that Amazon push their free Prime offer, and it's difficult to see the opt out button.
I find the easiest way to navigate the maze is to order using my PC rather than a mobile gadget.

True to their word, and after waiting the suggested 24 hours for the technical error to be fixed, I'm pleased to have been able to order the item on Amazon today without accepting the Amazon Prime Delivery free trial.
I had to untick the free Amazon Prime trial offer on every page including also having to deselect Amazon Prime delivery at the very end prior to buying/paying.

I've been reading because I used to be a fan of Amazon as easy to use but rarely use it now.
I first inadvertently clicked on the Amazon Prime because of the way it was placed but after a kerfufle to get it cancelled and refunded they did.
Next came a very wrong delivery which required the return to be taken 18miles to a depot during lockdown/unable to scan the returns label/getting to a library for advice and printing a label and post office.
Now i think I'm ordering with free delivery and its not.
So now I've stopped using it.
Not sure what marketing advice they are being given but it does drive customers elsewhere.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
