That's brilliant thanks. Much appreciated. This is to replace an Ecology DD for a NatWest account Does the open banking expiring not have any affect on the direct debit?WillPS said:
Set up Plum, including the open banking connection to the account you wish to deposit from (no harm in allowing this to expire once all is set up).sheffieldeagle said:Hi
I'm looking to open a Plum ISA as a a DD vehicle. Can anyone tell me how I set it up correctly to take only a fixed amount weekly and not use the auto save option?
Many thanks
Go in to 'Brain'. Ensure everything is turned off except 'Pay Days'. Ensure frequency and amount is set as you desire (mine is set to £2 fortnightly on a Friday, which sorts out 1 of my Natwest/RBS Reward accounts).

Any chance you could produce similar user friendly guide for Moneybox and Welathify dds :-) ! Both of these I got something set up eventually but can't now work out how I did it or how to change them! Some of these sites are a nightmare to navigate.WillPS said:

I've had Plum set up for years to satisfy one of my Halifax Rewards, last month they failed to take the DD. I tried to contact Plum to ask why, never got any response. The linked account was still linked (though it looks like from what you say above that doesn't matter?). I never use it other than for this, so I couldn't remember how I'd set it up, so had to re-set it again (took me a whileWillPS said:

Newp, open banking is needed to set up a DD but not to maintain it. The app moans (because they can't do any of the 'intelligent' stuff that we're not really interested in) but the DD continues unaffected.1 -
Halifax Reward hasn't required DDs since 2020.10_66 said:

Yes - it’s been a long day. It’s not for Halifax Reward, it’s for another account. Nevertheless, the DD wasn’t taken, and Plum didn’t respond.WillPS said:

I've got exactly this problem. Last month I could add £1 to my Paypal balance by DD. This month there is no longer an option in the app. App version 8.75.0 on an iPad (I don't have an iPhone to try).10_66 said:
If of interest should same happen to anyone else; I was using the app on an iPad and although the app version was the latest, I tried putting it on my newer iPhone 13 and the add money option then appeared. I don't understand why it appeared on the one but not the other when they are both version 8.74.0. This is one of the reasons I don't like apps, I prefer to use iPhone to android phones, but unless you have a newish model - you're stuck.10_66 said:Hope someone can help, please. I'm not good with apps at the best of times, but I logged onto my PayPal account today to request my usual £1 from my linked Halifax Reward account, and the usual move money in button's missing. All that's appearing on the home page is send and request, when I click on the balance, the only option I'm given then is withdraw money. I haven't changed anything, and as far as I can see the linked account is still linked and its valid to date is middle of next year. Can someone advise, please?1 -
My iPad has now updated to 8.75.0 and that appears to have reduced the service further, as I can't even click on the balance to get to the add money/transfer page. My iPhone manages to do this, but goodness knows for how much longer until that becomes obsolete tooboingy said:

Still on the old version but all I can do is adding funds to my balance by debit card payment. Can anyone explain how to use direct debit?10_66 said:
