    Given OP 1st post &
Purchased a car through a finance company on 13th February. Had to use their recommended garage.

Naming them will help. Just so people can look at their T/C & also if they are regulated.
Maybe I'm being very naiive but I've never heard of having to buy from your lender's recommended garage(?).

    Update:
Warranty company and dealer not interested.
Finance company are giving me a loan to cover 75% of the repair costs, which will be added on the end of my finance deal. I need to pay the remaining 25%.

Not an ideal situation but had little option.

I will still be putting in a complaint to the dealer using the CRA framework.

Have you referred at all to your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (legislation.gov.uk) yet?

The OP said 'I will still be putting in a complaint to the dealer using the CRA framework.'

Does 'CRA framework' mean Consumer Rights Act 2015?
If so, how do you use it to put a complaint to the dealer?
I assume he means by directing the garage (and his creditor?) to his rights and available remedies under the CRA.

(Not that I'm necessarily saying he has any.  I thought the "No advisories" might lead to a "not as described" argument, but now I'm not sure if the advisories were for just a couple of tyres...)

I think that is how some of the sub-prime car retailers work.
An individual is desperate for a car and has no way to finance the car.
The finance company provides finance at an inflated interest rate to buy a car from a specific Dealer at an inflated price, but the whole lot is presented as being friendly and supportive to the purchaser, facilitating what the other nasty Dealers will not.

I thought that might be it.  So in effect it is their business model.

Set your budget and they show you overpriced cars from dealers of questionable provenance (and anonymity until you've committed)

That's clever - those "cars under £100 per month" vary from £4k right up to £325k.
I'd be happy enough with this one, only £210k:

175 years to pay, assuming the deal is interest free ;)

I think this is an area I don't understand.

    A nice little runabout.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised, your repayments will be under £100 a month for only four years.

Will you be paying the £200k down-payment by bank transfer or cheque?

    Brilliant 🙂
I wonder if I can get an interest free CC to cover the deposit?
Maybe try a little stoozing after that.

    What could possibly go wrong?

Do you think it will be economical on petrol?  There is a cost of living crisis to consider, don't you know?  ;)

Seriously, these types of finance companies are why people get into difficulty - the scourge of the earth
