Reimbursement from car dealer - what would you do?

Hi all. Bought a car from a dealer on 16.2. Unfortunately when it got delivered it needed some suspension work, which the warranty company were not willing to cover. I have paid for the repair myself and the car dealer says he will reimburse me. I sent him the receipt for the work, and my proof of payment, last Thursday. How long should I realistically give him to reimburse me?

A week or so, depending on the business.0

A week or so for them to say its paid and two weeks in total for funds to be back in your account. Depending on the size of the organisation raising payment may have to go through several people's hands and it may be sent by BACS rather than FasterPay.
Hopefully you've made sure you've included your bank details etc for the reimbursement else you may find the missing details are only spotted when they go to make the payment and the process has to restart from the beginning once the details have been given.1 -
Yeah I included my bank details.0

Early March is a particularly busy time for their finance team.
Perhaps give them a little more leeway.

I'm assuming you've talked to them and the works were agreed?
If above is true, give them a polite call and ask them when you can see the money in your bank
and ask them to confirm via email, or take their name, time/date and what was stated.
Good luck0 -
Yeah all agreed over the phone. I have their name and proof of my phone call to them. My details were emailed to them.diystarter7 said:

No problem, they probably have it but might be worth checking in case it's got lost on the way.DarloTerrier said:Not as yet but that sounds like a good plan! Thanks.1
