If you receive a Notice of Discontinuance in the post, please redact it and post a picture of it, so your thread can go onto the wall of fame

Well done for sticking with the process
  • Yes I will gladfully!

It was hard and I had moments of flakiness but with some sense being said and a bit of a push it all worked out :)

Would you believe it, I called the court this morning and the claim has been discontinued! No WS from them was good news!  I’m so so happy and got off easy here I think. I’d like to thank you all for your support through this, you’ve been a HUGE help!

Equally I don’t ever want to be in this situation again so will be more careful in the future :)
    Yay!  Thought so!

    ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

Much better outcome than you thought when you first came here and said you'd had bad advice from the CAB or someone clueless:

"I’m now faced with a bill of £535 and it seems from the advice I’ve been given I’ll either have to pay up or get a solicitor to help me dispute the fee and pay a lower amount."

@Umkomaas might be able to add you to the disco thread as this discontinuance was confirmed received by the court, even though DCB Legal seemingly didn't bother to copy you in.

Just for consistency (having had difficulties with another poster not providing the written 'proof'), it would really help if you can let me have a copy of any paperwork you might eventually receive confirming the discontinuation, I'll place your case over on the discontinuation thread. Just tag me in when you copy it in here please. Thanks, ..... and well done in seeing this through to a successful conclusion. Great stuff (and stuff DCB Legal too!).
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
