Is it easy to manage? I can see my money and I'm always dipping into it.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -
Very - you can lock and hide pots - thr only ones I see are food & spends.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Agree its so easy to use. I don't hide my pots as I've found out I'm quite disciplined. I mean some of mine are for spending throughout the month anyway, petrol, days out, haircuts etc and others are just building funds, Christmas, car maintenance, insurance. I like being able to see them grow, knowing they are there for a reason and when the time comes the money is there. If I just had it in one big pot or savings account, I'd be far more likely to dip into it.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again0

Thanks for the pot ideas all. I'll probably spread them all out a bit more eventually but this month is my first month of writing down where every penny goes and first month of trying to budget properly. I'm already finding it a bit addictive haha
Got asked to do a few extra hours at work this week. Always a plus.
Got the estimate from my energy company detailing what my new DD will be now my fixed rates are about to expire. Almost double!! So that's going to need a bit of attention and a bit of money shuffling.
Did a few prolific surveys yesterday but the big ones were already full before I clicked.
Flipping cold here this morning. Walked the dogs early ie 5.45 am and had to put a wooly hat on!!
Struggling with the dogs a bit at the mo. New neighbour has a dog who is very aggressive at the fence. They just leave it outside and it throws itself at the fence. Of course mine then react. Can't afford new fencing so trying to block parts of the garden off where they can see him. According to the paperwork when I bought this property its not actually my fence but they refuse to accept its theirs... so if I want a permenant solution i guess I need to add a new fence savings pot to my monzo lol

You'll get there with the money shuffle and pots. It is addictive! And good news on some extra shifts.
Unfortunately I have the same problem with the dog at the fence except mine is the aggressive one breaking the fence! It's also my neighbours fence. It's in quite a precarious state already and doggo hasn't helped. If they want to fix it I'd be prepared to offer some of the cost. I do try to at least stop mine from doing it. I bought one of those pet corrector noise things as she doesn't like noises but it's not made one bit of difference. I usually bring her straight in when she's barked at next door but it's a problem in the summer as want the doors open. The thing is, my dog isn't aggressive at all, but I think it's the fact she can't see next doors dog so is protecting. They don't talk to us, so assume they won't ask about the fence. TBH if they speak to MrM he'd tell them to do one! I'm much more obliging and care about neighbourly relations.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1 -
Sorry to go back to the pots discussion - I use Chase as it has 3.3% aer so I make a few quid in interest every month. The only downside is you can only have 10 savings pots.01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0

Quiet week for me.
Only a couple of calls from m&s who have started using a different number.
Tomorrow will be the first day I don't pay my mr ll credit cards. They've kindly put a hold on charges for my over draft. But I'm expecting a few calls this week. Hence phone on silent.
Had the last of my precooked lunches out today. It wasn't expensive and was very enjoyable.
Sorted my monzo pots a few times. Absolutely love the monzo app. So much more user friendly than my old bank.
Spent more than I'd wished to on groceries but I think it will balance out over the next few weeks as I bought quite a few store cupboard staples.
Other than that I have worked, done house work and bern in the garden in glorious sunshine.
Dogs have caught two rats ..have a horrible feeling there's a nest under the garden shed.
No extra work shifts booked for the coming week but to be honest, I'm glad, need to get caught up with chores.
Slightly boring! Sorry x4 -
Oh and just to add. ..
I m9ved counties alone two years ago..and at times have wondered if I've made a mistake. My home is a work in progress but I moved to an area of national beauty.
Today someone drove me round areas ( very on my doorstep) I had not ventured into. Suddenly I'm in love with my new home. The sunshine makes such a difference and exploring off the beaten track had lifted my mood. A walk down country lanes with the dogs is free and such a huge lift.7 -
Sounds like you had a lovely and productive weekend.
