It's been another uneventful week for me. DID end up getting extra shift at work, DID NOT catch up on chores at home ...it was either too nice to be indoors or I didn't have the energy. I've been sleeping a lot longer than I usually do too. Not complaining.

New managerial structure at work , so complicated that I haven't quite worked out who my immediate supervisor is. A couple of new managers have been brought in who are intent on doing things differently. I really am not good with change  never have been, it makes me doubt myself and makes me nervous. We've also got a work "do" coming up which I really don't want to go to, but I don't want to be the only one who doesn't go, so I'm going to ask around and see what the numbers look like.

Moneywise ...its a few days since I missed my second cc payment to m/s . They continue to ring my mobile several times a day. I also missed paying Mr Lloyd for the first time. But he hasn't noticed yet.

Made about £20 on prolific this week which is still pending, and I'm one survey away from getting my next £50 from ylive. Have had nothing from yougov for weeks.

Did my meal plan for next week and shopped yesterday, food for me, and two dogs and stuff like loo roll all for £40 which was my target. Could do cheaper probably but I do eat lots of fresh fish fruit veg etc so it's all quality. No rubbish.

Talking of rubbish ...I do have to confess to a really trashy guilty pleasure ...Love Island! That's why I'm sleeping late ...this addictive rubbish TV keeps me up after my regular bedtime and will do so for another seven weeks!

I'm not so keen on sewing bee ...but I love pottery throw down when it's on.

Love island just leaves me gaping at the TV to be honest ... I know I soubd like my mum, but I am do glad I'm not a youngster in this day and age.

    Anyway

I'm afraid I have to spend some money today. Both dogs need new collars and I need to get some fresh herbs.  I haven't got around to planting my herb boxes yet. Not sure if it's now too late for this year. I don't like spending money on the little bags of fresh herbs at the supermarket BUT they do help so much in transforming ingredients from one day to the next. I'm making rice and chickpea salad later ...if i make two different bowls fir today and tomorrow, just varying the herbs makes it seem like two completely different dishes.  I'll then either freeze what herbs are left or use them when I batch cook soup later or a sofrito of sorts. I've been reading a lot about ultra processed foods lately ...frightening reading,  so am spending hours reading ingredients labels when I do my shop these days.

Cashed out £22 from prolific last night so that will pay for the dog collars.

It's grey and murky out at the moment. Hoping the rain will hold off till evening as Monday is washing day. There's a decent breeze though.

I feel like I could just roll over and go back to sleep but lots of chores to do round the house today ...going to get them done and then I can relax and enjoy a day off.

    Happy new week!

Hi Lilypoo - good idea to freeze the herbs. Will you chop them first? I’m trying to reduce food waste so last night I made two lots of overnight oats using a couple of slightly sad looking apples leftover in the fruit bowl. The bonus of that meant coming down to breakfast already prepared in the fridge, plus I’ve already had one of my 5-a-day.
    Have a good day!

    Hi @Spinayarn

Yes I chop them then put them in ice cube trays but make them into olive oil cubes instead of ice cubes

I've tried every way possible and for the way I cook I think this way works best

I love overnight oats.  Thanks for inspiring me! Adding it to my meal plan for next week!
  • Yay for emergency funds... and good friends.

Well done for the work award and the £50 survey payout
  • Delurking to say sorry that's happened, it's always tricky when the emergencies build up before the fund does.

You're doing so well in so many ways, hope you feel a bit brighter soon and congrats on the work award  :)
