Another stationery fan here. I love a good notebook 😁 I do have spreadsheets, but also keep a book….do I need to mention the coloured pens? 😬

M&s back on the blower this morning at 08.25 and from a sneaky 0800 number. I didn't answer, they left no message, but a quick Google tells me who it is.

It's two years since I moved into this house.  May , June and July will always be the three months most money goes out because that's when I changed things like insurance, got my first water bills etcetera. Hopefully next year it won't be such a struggle as I'll have budgeted for it properly.

Not such a nice day here today..much cooler and heavy cloud   breezy.  I did the kitchen and living room yesterday   so cleaning bathroom and bedroom today then back to work tomorrow.  No extra hours this week . But I managed £10 of surveys yesterday.

Sorted out some nice wool from my stash and got out a pattern I purchased before LBM so I've started crocheting a warm cardigan for autumn.  Oh and talking about warm ...my fixed rate electric contract ends in July...just looked at the new price per kwh and standing charges and think unless something drastic happens to energy prices my monthly bill will double. Going to keep paying over through summer so I've some credit when winter comes. There's no mains gas where I live and I'm too far off the beaten track for oil to be delivered. On the plus side I still have half of this past winters logs in stock so will be able to use the log burner without any additional expense when the time comes.

Sorry that's a long boring state of affairs post. Didn't sleep well last night and rewrote all my saving and dmp plans . I've come to the conclusion (having read it on another diary..thank you) that I need a sod it fund as well as an emergency fund.

Going to look at selling some books today ...non  of them will be valuable but even if I raise a tenner its a bonus. Also found some baby wool , might crochet a baby blanket and see if thst will sell on etsy. You never get the full value of crocheted items because it takes time but I don't mind that as I do it while watching TV and chilling .

Off to the old style board now for meal planning inspiration.

    Have a good day.

You sound like you have been constructive with your time off. I used vinted a lot, I am not sure if you can sell book on there. It is such a simple app to use

I think an emergency and a s*d it fund are both good options.  The emergency fund could be for a capped amount and the s*d it one could be a rolling fund that you keep topping up as and when you have a s*d it moment and spend from it.

    m & s are very persistent.

That's a brilliant idea which I might take on board.   Tend to raid the emergency fund with the s*d it feeling takes over some days.

I like the idea of a s*d it fund! I might start one up ;)
