Wow, freezing the card, you definitely can’t use that… I like that idea!

Haven't posted for a couple of days as life has been busy and on occasions lazy.

Seem to have spent hours online or on the phone changing direct debits to new account  , cancelling the non essential ones etc

Have had major issues getting the verified by visa thing set up on my new debit card ...maybe that's an omen ..a sign that I mustn't be making online purchases!

Work has been busy. Yesterday we had all been asked to dress in red white and blue. Guess who was the only one who bothered? Ah well ...it made people smile

Strange thing happened this morning. Had an email from my (soon to be ) old bank, where I have O/D and CC debt telling me how much my od is costing me and suggesting I contact step change  , payplan or national debt line. I know these emails are automated but it gives me hope that they will default me quickly. Haven't missed  a payment yet ..First time will be in June.

Did a major shop last night. Mostly store cupboard and freezer basics but with 'offers" I managed to get over £80 worth of food for £61. Freezer now full and have enough rice,  lentils , beans and frozen veg to last at least a couple of months.

Working again tonight and also tomorrow morning  so today will be spent mostly out hiking in the rain with the dogs in order to tire them out.

Must also consume the camembert that's stinking out not only the fridge but the entire house!

Had an up and down few days.

Moved my DDs for road tax and council tax but council tax has gone up £5 a month this year.

Someone warned me about security questions with co-op basic account. Wow. I genuinely appreciate the security hut bloody hell I have got myself confused and had to ring them a dozen times lol. They answer quickly and have been brilliant,  I must say.

The importance of an emergency fund has been confirmed today. I have a slow puncture or some kind of valve leak on one of my car tyres. Going to have it looked at later. We are plagued with pot holes where I live and I know I've hit a couple quite hard do I hope its fixable easily and not something that'll cost an arm abd a leg.

Found £13 in a pocket of a jacket I haven't worn since last summer ...I've never been so happy to see a £10 note lol

So today's to do  list is sort out the fridge and put bread, sausage casserole I made last night and cheese in the freezer, walk the dogs and get the tyre sorted out. Just put some washing on the line but the clouds are very black so need to keep an eye on the weather. Also need to ring a very depressed friend.  Hard to know what to say to him more often than not as he can't explain his depression, isn't on meds, won't see Dr...but least I can do is let him know I'm here.

Wishing everyone a sunny and prosperous day x

Good result on finding the £13.  Hope the puncture is cheap to repair

Yay to finding £13 🎉🎉I hope your tyre doesn't cost too much. There was zero chance of pegging any washing out here today it was like a monsoon all day then thunderstorms in the afternoon 🙄

And that's exactly why my washing was wetter when I came home than it was when I put it out lol. What a wet day!

Well I feel a bit sick this morning. Just ten days late with my first CC payment and I've hasd two automated calls and a text. I didn't expect it to start quite so quickly. This has sort of hit me round the head and made me realise this is real.

Work this evening and it's grocery shopping this morning ... meal plan all done. I've got a list which I shall stick to and will only be spending £20 for the week. This includes batch cooking about 6 servings of veg madras in the slow cooker ready for the freezer.

Need to get outside and walk the dogs to clear my head a bit though it looks like the early sunshine will turn to rain soon.

Have a lovely day all x

So m&s rang again this morning at the exact same time as yesterday..it didn't feel so worrying today.

Working again later so need to get my act together and walk the dogs, then make a main meal for tonight and tomorrow night. I haven't used my cooker in months. Ran out of bottled gas so now I adapt things and manage well with my microwave  slow cooker, instantpot and remoska. Greek beans and potatoes is dish of the day ...fasolakia. MUST eat properly before work. I only had a dish of cereal yesterday and ended up a bit shaky and light headed.

Got a couple of days off next week which will be used to clean the car and do some housework and gardening .

Not much else to add for today.  Must look into listing a couple of tops on vinted ..never looked at it before.

Two ..not one ..Two stinky letters from m&s bank today  ...saying they're adding late fees and will tell experian and equifax etc that I'm late making a payment AND that they will use my personal details as agreed in my credit agreement.

Far from scaring me they're just making me cross. Contact them for customer service help and it takes dsys,   payments take days to appear as credited...miss a payment and they manage two calls  , two texts  , two voice mails and two letters within 11 days.

Hello @lillypoo - popping in to say hello and cheer you on.
I agree about how persistent creditors can be when chasing up unpaid bills.  It's important not to be intimidated or feel hounded.   I don't really know about a DMP but I'm assuming at some point that will stop the calls from your creditors?
fasolakia sounds lovely.  Do you have a recipe you could share?
