  • Happy Friday 🥳 I’m an avid reader and buy most of my books from charity shops. We have one shop locally that sells 10 for £1 which is amazing. I’ve only ever found 10 in one go once but still happy to part with £1 for fewer books.

    Have a fabulous weekend!
10 for £1 is brilliant! I'd be tempted to stick extra in the collection tin though, I am working my way through a new author I came across by chance, so I have been buying those. Going to see if the remaining 7 are in the library though as the catalogue is online. Then I just need to join!

Wow 10 for £1 is excellent. Our local charity shop charge £1 each. Not sure about the few in the next town, don't get down there very often. I did find one for 50p when we visited my dad on south coast a while back That's the sort I like....lol  When we were on holiday in Yorkshire earlier in the year, they were £2.99 as it was a "posh" market town, and their jigsaw puzzles were £6, which is mad as I can get them for £1.75 locally.

It can definitely depend on location, as well as the name of the charity in my experiance. Although one of the 2nd hand books I have just bought from eBay for £3.65 has a '50p' price sticker on the back! :D

  • Yes that's the way to make some money if you can buy books cheap and sell them on, but I've found selling books is very hard these days.

  • Happy Monday MSE-ers, I hope everyone had a nice weekend? Mine was good but very spendy... need to keep a tabs on spending now for the next 9 days... Not much else planned this month though so it should be OK.

I was productive over the weekend and on Saturday I even joined the library. Hopefully this will save me having to buy more books as I can check if they have the title I want and then reserve it.  They also have a section of booths where I can go and work for the day if I get fed up of being at home so that's good!

Today won't be a NSD as I am out with my sister tonight. But no going out plans after today for the rest of the month so all should be fine.  My PAD today is £5 to the EF, I have a bit pending in Prolific but nothing is available yet.

Monday's are alwasy busy work-wise so I'd better get a shift on.
    Have a lovely day!

  • Good idea to go to the library to work. Think of the savings on electricity and heating in the winter.

That’s great that your library has that work option LMD. Nice to mix up the home/office options a bit sometimes isn’t it

    Morning!

I've cashed out £5.51 from Prolific this morning and that has been sent to the sealed pot, £5 has been sent to the EF. Everything seems to be fine on that front. It's a NSD today nowhere to be and this weather is persuading neither me nor the dog to venture further than the back garden.

    Hope you're all well
