My son has just had a letter from 'dcblegal' see below. This a a result of a parking charge in January 2024.
I have told him to ignore, is this the correct advice?
Thank you Kg
The first few paragraphs of the second post of the NEWBIES thread explain exactly how to deal with a Letter of Claim.
But this thread is about a 2023 parking incident.
If you don't already have a thread about this January 2024 incident, then please start one now.
Meanwhile, what has happened with the incident already being progressed in this thread?
This is the update from Jan 2024. He appealed to POPLA but was knocked back. Then no letters till the one I posted yesterday.
Thank you for all your help.
Will now read the thread LETTER OF CLAIM....
Regards Kg
Do I have to fill these pages in?KeithP said:

UPDATE...
We have received a reply from dcblegal.co.uk. In their reply the have posted my sons appeal which I never knew he had replied to before I asked for help on this forum. See picture, i am wasting your time guys?
copy of dcblegal reply....We write in response to your correspondence received in our office dated 19/09/2024.
We now respond to the same as follows.
"The terms and conditions on the signs stated that parking was permitted for vehicles clearly displaying a valid permit, or otherwise a parking charge notice would be issued. A valid permit was not on display as is demonstrated in the photographic evidence enclosed. The parking charge was issued correctly.
The Original Parking Charge Notice of £100.00 plus a recovery fee of £70.00 not including VAT. This fee has been incurred as it had been referred to DCBLegal.
We acknowledge that you have said you was not the driver and do not believe our Client can hold the keeper liable. Please find enclosed your appeal which you have stated as being the driver of the vehicle..
You now have 30 days from the date of this email to make payment of £170.00. Failure to make payment may result in a Claim being issued against you without any further reference.
Payment can be made via bank transfer to our designated client account: -
- Account Name: DCB Legal Ltd Client Account
- Sort Code: 20-24-09
- Account Number: 60964441
You must quote the correct case reference (101473.273197D) when making payment. If you do not, we may be unable to correctly allocate the payment. If further action is taken by us as a result of an incorrect reference being quoted, you will be liable for any further fees or costs incurred.

Keep following the required court process and UKPC/DCB Legal will discontinue.

I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I will be away for 2 weeks so will update if any more info from dcblegal arrives, when I return.
All the best Kg1 -
I would expect a court claim to arrive in the latter half of October, from the CNBC in Northampton. ( Not from DCB Legal. But issued by them on behalf of the parking company. )
So fully redact it apart from the issue date and post the correctly redacted picture of it after it arrives
Redact the name and address, the QR code, the claim reference number, the VRM details and the MCOL password too , carefully checking all sections for those entries, especially after your previous redactions required more work
Enjoy your holiday2 -
If you ask for a 30 day hold as per the standard LBC response that'll push the claim back to November or it might join the annual 'just before Christmas' aggressive batch of claims that DCB Legal always churn out, like puking all over innocent people at a busy time.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
