Why are people so disparaging about IHDs?

I think this may be part of Octopus's experiment with AI.....They are trying to give these things more human qualities, and I suspect what happens is they've learned to sulk for a bit if they're switched off and ignored. It's no good asking them what's wrong though, they just say "oh nothing" and carry on sulking (a bit like my ex). You just have to wait for them to get it out of their system and sort themselves out (will either that or wipe out humanity, but that's probably a debate for a different thread).Or so I'm told.....3

Well, I have just signed up to Eon's V4 fix tariff, which starts 1/7/23.
I wonder if my IHD will start picking up the right rates again? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
My E.ON Next V4 started on 22 Jun but my IHD is still showing the SVR EPG Apr 1st rates.Sea_Shell said:Well, I have just signed up to Eon's V4 fix tariff, which starts 1/7/23.

A bit disappointing given that the Apr 1st rates appeared on my IHD on 1 Apr.
Sorry I couldn’t think of any more relevant TLAs.

Well it took 18 days, but today my IHD is finally showing my new tariff !How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)2 -
Better late than never :-) The pace of life is slow where I live, and anything done within a month or so is considered fine....
I still have my IHD in a prominent place despite having lots of apps on the phone, I do find the instant visibility of what I'm using helpful for reminding me if I've left something switched on. I don't need to hunt for my glasses to see it - think I must have left them upstairs. Will probably have forgotten why I went up there if I go and look for them.....3 -
I know British Gas are pretty rubbish but my IHD gets updated straight away 😀0

My E.ON Next V4 commenced on 22nd June but my IHD still has their 1st April SVR rate. My 30 days trumps your 18 day delay.Sea_Shell said:Sea_Shell said:Well, I have just signed up to Eon's V4 fix tariff, which starts 1/7/23.

On the other hand, I never use the £ data on the IHD. I just focus on the kWh data on the IHD. As long as my bill is correct I am really not concerned what cost the IHD shows.0 -
It may be pure coincidence, but on Sunday afternoon I turned the IHD off and left it off until Monday morning.RG2015 said:

It initially came back on at the (same) wrong rates, so I thought it hadn't worked, but then this morning it was correct.
So you could try that, if you haven't already. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
I'm another IHD fan who doesn't use the £ display but keeps a beady eye on the kW one
