@Fruitcake, Can I please ask for another advice? I have received another parking ticket from Total Parking Solutions for my wife passing through the car park which has automatic numberplate recognition system installed. She did not park in the car park in question as there is a through road leading to another facility with the non-monitored car park (and the passage through the car park actually leads to another major road). The photos on the PCN sent to me list my name, although my wife was driving. The photos show the car entering the car park and leaving it 23 minutes later - there is no evidence of parking in the monitored car park. I have included a diagram below.I am puzzled: how is it possible to get a parking charge notice for NOT parking in the monitored car park? Any advice on how to fight this?

Parking charge for passing through car park
0 -
Good morning @Coupon-mad and @Fruitcake . I have now received the Demand for Payment from the Vehicle Control Services, asking me to pay the Charge amnout plus the data collection costs to the Debt Management team. They gave me a deadline for action and state that the company intends to take me to court in relation to this debt. What would be your advice with regards to my actions, please?

I did not want to waste your time, as I have already read post #4 of the MSE Forum’s Newbies thread explaining how to react to the debt collectors' letters. The advice is just to wait and ignore the letters, stating that only small proportion of cases actually go to court. If this happens, when (time period) would a parking company (VCS in my case) likely to try a small claim? I might be out of the country for couple of months next year, and concerned about missing the actual court letter.

They have 6 years to claim but VCS normally act within months. You will need someone checking your post, if away.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you @Coupon-mad . I will ask someone to check our post when we are abroad. What happens if the court case is set for the date when I am not in the UK?

It won't be because you will have the opportunity to state when you will be unable to attend court. The whole process takes months before you are given a court date, and you get to choose the court.
You do need to be able to respond to a Letter Of/Before Claim if you want to delay a claim by 30 days, and need to be able to respond to a court claim in under 19 days.
I suggest now is a good time to respond with the points I posted that you were unable to use previously, or alternatively send it when you get the LOC/LBC.
You should also contact your MP again, giving bullet points why no breach occurred, but the unregulated PPC is threatening court and adding on fake debt/admin charges, although it might be worth holding off on this for a couple of weeks to see what the government has to say about the fake add-ons. This is expected this month so keep an eye out for it on this forum. We need your help and input to get this stamped on during the public consultation, as well as all your family and friends.I married my cousin.
