  • Mum sometimes buys me one when she picks up eggs for the grandkids (I'm nearly 44) but I certainly don't expect one. I didn't use to get them as a kid though - it was cheaper to buy normal chocolate bars so that's what my parents got me and my brothers at Easter. And I'm talking a mars bar or two each.

Well, I'm closer to 50 than 40 and my parents got me one, but I was visiting them for Easter 0 they wouldn't send one if I wasn't there. Growing up, I thin we got them from parents when we were at home at Easter, so until we left University.

We used to get them from grandparents if we saw them at Easer but don't recall ever getting them from any other relations

I'm 34. My partner and I get an egg from my parents, grandmother, brother and SiL. We buy eggs for the same.

It's an expensive method of buying chocolate but it's fun. I spend about £30 total and we are all in the position of being able to afford it. Our ages range from 30 - 94.

Weirdly the actual children (5 and 7) on my partner's side we get a small non-chocolate gift for as they aren't fussed about sweet things. This year they have a 'make your own bouncy balls' kit that was £5 in the Christmas sales.
  • I always bought an Easter egg for my Mum right up to her death aged 91!

I agree there's something about both the shape and especially the thinness of Easter egg chocolate that you don't get any other time. When my kids were little because they received so many eggs from other family members, I used to buy mine an egg that came with a gift, eg egg cups, mugs, small cuddly toy. I remember thinking this year that I hadn't seen anything like that this year. Then yesterday my 20yo daughter bought herself reduced eggs in M&S, 8 small chocolate eggs I think it was inside a small metal bucket that has pics of percy pig on it - no idea what she intends using it for -lol but she bought it because it was 'cute'.
  • I bought my daughter, 25 year old, a dinosaur egg from Aldi. I'll probably always buy her Easter eggs, same as getting a stocking at Christmas. I only have one child so it's not a big expense.

My kids are 21 & 17 and we have had them running around with baskets, looking for chocolate eggs my partner has hidden...so no, I can't see there being an age-limit here either...
