So, point us to the test where it is shown as the best anti virus scanner in the world.
Paraphrased your original sentence;4) Highest Virus/Trojan detection than any other virus scanner (as shown in tests)0 -
Didn't I paste the link? Will go grab one
EDIT: Got it: (and obviously this is for free virus scanners as I don't believe in paying for it)

Another unbiased comparison though not as official:

Another independant review. See the summary from best to worst:

Erm.... where is the unbiased review?
There are no positive or negative remarks as such, just information from other sources; some more than one year old. The very same thing for which you attempted to criticize in my randomly selected link.
I'm not going to check the other two links below, as I'm already bored.
It's clearly not the best in the world. It may be the best of one of three offered for free; dependent on user interaction.
My post was just to highlight the pro and cons of any anti virus solution. Not just to rave one sidedly about any one solution.
I've seen too many posts on here alone about Trojan infections to take any ad hoc advice here at face value.
Now, I've got to be up early.0 -
The main bad point you suggested was the lack of viruses it can catch. The figures there are from April 2007. A lot nearer to now than your website.
And you're avoiding to look at other websites that have statistics on to show my case? I can't believe you're going to completely ignore evidence haha!
And the reason its unbiased is because just that, no postivie or negative remarks. Just statistics. So you can form your own opinion from the staitstics.
The main point of anti virus threads on MSE are FREE virus scanners. And for me Anti-Vir wins hands down.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

First of all, there is nothing to suggest that the program tested in May 2007 was the FREE version. Take a look for yourself.Products were set with their most aggressive detection options, such as using all heuristics and testing inside archives.
I can see the novice getting to grips with this.
Secondly, all of the other Anti Virus tests were run a year or more ago.
Instead of just cutting & pasting links, look a little deeper in to them. Years old. The comparisons are with Norton 2004!
That why I got bored looking through them.
Sometimes you 'Teccys'(sic) get tunnel vision.
Allow me to remind you of your statement;Donnie,
the test failure is irelevant as its a year old.
Ahem......
I really must go to bed now, it's past 2am.
Maybe you should turn in too. You must be getting tired from looking for favourable links to support your 'case'.
Here's the view from the verandah of my bungalow to help you to calm your spirit;

o0o0o Nice view.. Where abouts are you?
The comparison is for free anti virus scanners. I'm sure they would have used the free version and Norton 2004 is still commonly used today[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

In fact some of the tests used the Pro version, but that doesn't get away from the fact that some of the tests are years old....and that FAILED test.
Off to bed again. I had a good session at the gym.
